The Granary Pratling Street Aylesford Kent ME20 7DQ
Seller Insight Once the farm granary, built in 1872, this very special dwelling was cleverly converted into this delightful home in 2002. Quietly tucked away in the picturesque, historic, village of Aylesford, through which the River Medway gently meanders, its location is peaceful and tranquil, yet it is within reach of a full range of outstanding facilities. The bustling village has much to offer with excellent schools, shopping, restaurants and pubs, together with many clubs and societies offering opportunities to pursue many interests and hobbies. Sport and leisure facilities are numerous, with the local golf course being minutes from the house. Maidstone is close by, and the house is also minutes away from major roads and motorways, offering easy journeys to Channel ports, or to Le Shuttle, with Ebbsfleet being approximately twenty minutes away. I just fell in love with The Granary immediately I came to view. comments Maggie At first glance, it is neat and compact and somewhat like a tardis ; once inside it is spacious and bright with lovely rooms, all with character. Fabulous vaulted ceilings, open timbers and beams and which, combined with its modern day luxuries and comforts, gives an overall wow factor. It is such a welcoming home and one which is fabulous to share with friends and family. The family favourite is the main reception room. It captures all available light and has a lovely outlook to the garden. On warm, summer days, we throw open the door wide and love to listen to the nearby birdsong. However, in winter time, it is warm and cosy and is where we like to switch off away from the elements. The pretty garden is beautifully private. The raised timber decking outside the kitchen, provides a special area in which to survey the garden, or to enjoy relaxed meals out here. We also have another area set in the middle of the garden in which we can relax. The Master bedroom has a special ambience. Its stunning vaulted ceiling give us such a feeling of space. This has been a truly wonderful family home and we will miss many things, particularly its location in this small hamlet which contains a friendly sociable community who, are not in the least bit intrusive, but are caring and welcoming. * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
