Your Project Partner CORPORATE OVERVIEW From its one modest store established in 1974, to Timbercity s acquisition by the JSE-quoted JD Group in 2011, this service-based chain has come a long way. The successful Timbercity brand was initially established in 1974 by two independent entrepreneurs in Parow, Cape Town. In 2004 the Steinhoff group gained ownership of Timbercity through its acquisition of PG Bison, and their retail arm, SteinBuild, was born. SteinBuild now forms part of the JD Group, with Steinhoff being the majority shareholder. With over 35 years of experience in providing superior products, outstanding service delivery and successful branding and advertising, Timbercity is one of South Africa s most recognisable and trusted brands when it comes to specialist cutting and edging. To date, Timbercity has a footprint of 36 branches, including outlets in Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. The most recent additions to the chain are Timbercity Lusaka in Zambia and Timbercity Polokwane in Limpopo Province. 77629-TC - Franchise enquiry.indd 2
