TOWER GREEN HE HYBRID / Condensing Floor-standing Boilers Tower Green HE Hybrid: the hybrid technology by Beretta A perfect match between high technology and reliability, Tower Green HE Hybrid is a floor-standing condensing hybrid boiler, specifically designed for connection with a heat pump. With 4,6 kw output, Tower Green HE Hybrid 5/00 B.S.I. features a double coil built-in DHW tank of 00 lt capacity. Thanks to the specific onboard equipment and the high-tech electronics, Tower Green HE Hybrid can manage multiple energy sources: gas, via its condensing combustion group, and electricity, through the connection with a hydronic heat pump. A very high modulation ratio (10:1) and class 5 NOx emissions are among the pluses that make of this gas hybrid heat generator one of the best products, designed according to the new Ecodesign rules. ECODESIGN AND ENERGY LABEL Tower Green HE Hybrid system: A+ class Tower Green HE Hybrid, together with a Hydronic Unit LE B heat pump, form a system in A+ class. According to the European Directive ErP, which came into force on 6.09.015, all products for central heating and domestic hot water production, with nominal output lower than or the same as 70 kw, must be classified through a proper Energy Label, showing the efficiency class. Besides the single "product label", the European rules foresee a "system label" in case of systems made of different appliances, components and relevant controls. Thanks to the virtuous synergy among the different components, the "system label" can achieve higher levels of efficiency than each relevant component. The compulsory labelling aims at giving the enduser the possibility to easily identify the efficiency of a product or a system, allowing a comparison with other products or systems with the same technology. As a consequence, also boilers will help to reach by 00 the "0-0-0" target, consisting in 0% reduction of gas emissions, 0% increase in the use of renewable energy and 0% reduction in global energy consumption within the EU countries. TECHNOLOGY AND ADVANTAGES Working logic of Tower Green HE Hybrid system Tower Green HE Hybrid is a multi-energy system, characterized by a working logic specifically conceived to achieve the maximum comfort while prioritizing the use of the renewable energies, for the maximum energy saving, according to the relevant Directives. Only one priority: renewable energies for your saving Tower Green HE Hybrid is a multi-energy system, characterized by a working logic specifically conceived to ensure top comfort while complying with the rules about the use of renewable energies, thus translating into the maximum saving for the end-user. See graphs at page 10. 4 hour/weekly programming of the heating The boiler allows a 4 hour/7 day programming of the heating. TECHNOLOGY AND ADVANTAGES Fixed point on cooling During the summer funcion in cooling mode, via heat pump, the flow temperature is fixed, with the possibility to choose different temperatures on the mixed zones. At the end of the demand on the direct cooling zone, in case of demand on the mixed zone, the control logic, that always pursues the maximum saving, provides that the cooling is produced at the right temperature, without need of corrections. The system allows to set one or more zones also in heating mode only, regardless of what is chosen on other zones. Therefore on these zones, in the summer function, cooling will not be produced. Sliding temperature on heating In the heating function both with the boiler and the heat pump, the flow temperature is "sliding", that is it is determined by the thermoregulation curve selected by the outdoor temperature. Heat pump integration on DHW The built-in DHW tank is heated by the heat pump and the boiler heat. The priority is on the heat pump, while the boiler covers the heat demand only in case the temperature probe asks its intervention. Frost protection and defrost function of the generator The boiler has its own logic in the management of frost protection (in case of non working heat pump) and defrost function (in case of working heat pump). Frost protection and defrost functions are protections conceived in order to preserve the generator in the energy saving perspective. Nightly attenuation It is also possible to program the nightly attenuation of the power of the heat pump to keep the noise level down to the wished values. 5

TECHNOLOGY AND CONTROL Boiler control panel allowing integrated heat pump management The new detachable control panel of Tower Green HE Hybrid allows to manage the functions of the boiler and the heat pump Hydronic Unit LE B. Its interface features a wide back-light liquid crystal display with four touch buttons that simplify its usage. The panel displays and manages also the functions of multizone control and programmable room thermostat. 1 KEY: 1 Confirm Cancel Select Control panel detachable inside the house as a remote control and a programmable thermostat The control panel can be removed from the boiler and located inside the house where, via electrical connections, it can work as a remote control panel and programmable room thermostat. On the boiler without its control panel can be lodged the interface remote kit (optional), that enables the reset function directly from the boiler besides displaying the working status through two signal LEDs. 6

In this way the system manages heating, cooling and DHW production, by prioritizing the use of the heat pump. LOW ENERGY, SELF-MODULATING CIRCULATORS (EEI 0,0) HIGH DHW COMFORT Significant reduction in electrical consumption thanks to the Low Energy self-modulating circulators, both on the boiler primary circuit and the additional zones. The self-modulating feature means that the circulators work in proportion to the power supplied by the boiler and the real needs of the installation, translating into further energy saving. DETACHABLE CONTROL PANEL FOR BOILER AND HEAT PUMP The technological and electronic innovation allow the achievement of a high DHW comfort. BUILT-IN 00 lt. DHW TANK Tower Green HE Hybrid features a built-in double coil DHW tank, ensuring 00 lt DHW immediately available for the end-user to meet every needs. The control panel can be removed from the boiler and located inside the house where, via electrical connections, it can work as a remote control panel and a programmable room thermostat, managing both boiler and heat pump. A HIGH INSTALLATION FLEXIBILTY ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY The pre-mix burner optimizes the combustion mixture by reducing the NOx emissions to values that allow the boiler to achieve Class 5, the most environmentally-friendly according to the Directive UNI EN 48. Possibility to manage different energy sources and to create up to zones, according to your installation needs. TECHNOLOGY AND EFFICIENCY Tower Green HE Hybrid system: efficiency and flexibility for every need Tower Green HE Hybrid system manages the different energy sources in the most efficient way, according to the outside temperatures and your needs. To satisfy the heating request, Tower Green HE Hybrid system automatically selects the most efficient mode, choosing between heat pump and boiler, prioritizing the use of renewable energy. In the autumn and winter months, for most of the time the outside temperature is suitable for the use of the heat pump. As the outside temperature drops, the heat pump is used only during the warmest hours, while in the remaining hours the heating request is satisfied by the boiler. This contribution can be increased up to 90%, according to the set operation parameters. The annual cooling demand is satisfied by 100% by the heat pump. The pie chart represents the energy sources contribution share to the different comfort demands: heating/cooling/dhw. The heat pump satisfies 7% of the whole demand (heating/cooling/dhw), while the contribution of the heat combustion generator (boiler) counts for 7%. Concerning the annual DHW production, assumed to be 68.000 litres, 78% is achieved via heat pump, while % via boiler. *Based on the avarage heating/cooling/dhw demand of a Low-energy building, 140 sqm surface, in a temperate zone. 10

TECHNOLOGY AND ADVANTAGES Self-modulating Low Energy circulator for the direct zone For the direct zone, as standard on the boiler and located after the hydraulic separator, Tower Green HE Hybrid features a self-modulating Low Energy circulator with max 7 metres residual head. This new zone circulator, suitable also in case of cooling operation when connected with a heat pump, is supplied with 10 preset curves, to work proportionally to the power or at a constant residual head. Direct and mixed zones kits (as option) Tower Green HE Hybrid can manage up to three zones. The additional direct or mixed zones, available as optional kits (see order codes below), can be lodged inside the boiler and added to the first direct zone, built-in as standard, in order to complete the installation. The additional zones use a self-modulating Low Energy circulator with max 7 metres residual head. Suitable also for operation in connection with the heat pump for the cooling function, the new zone pumps are supplied with 10 preset curves, to work proportionally to the power or at a constant residual head. Each kit includes also the electronic board. The electrical connection is simply made through only three cables and the whole management and programming of the heat pump is made via the boiler remote control panel.
