This unit creates impulse sales by attractively displaying the corn on the cob in an eye appealing manner, all buttered and ready to serve. This manual provides the safety, installation and operating procedures for the Corn Carousel. We recommend that all information contained in this manual be read prior to installing and operating the unit. Your Corn Carousel is manufactured from the finest materials available and is assembled to Roundup s strict quality standards. For your safety, the equipment is furnished with a properly grounded cord connector. Do not attempt to defeat the grounded connector. Install or locate the equipment only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals in this equipment. Do not operate this equipment if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped. This equipment should be serviced by qualified personnel only. Contact the nearest Roundup authorized service facility for adjustment or repair. Do not block or cover any openings on the unit. Do not immerse cord or plug in water. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not allow cord to hang over edge of table or counter. The following warnings and cautions appear throughout this manual and should be carefully observed. Turn the unit off, disconnect the power source and allow unit to cool down before performing any service or maintenance on the unit. The procedures in this chapter may include the use of chemical products. POWER 140 A.J. Antunes & Co. INSTALLATION Unpacking 1. Remove unit and all packing materials from shipping carton. 2. Open the large box. Remove all packing materials and protective coverings from the unit and parts. Driver Assembly 3. Wash driver assy. in soap and water. Wipe all surfaces of the unit with a hot damp cloth. NOTE: Do not use a dripping wet cloth. Wring out before use. 100 120 OFF 200 160 180 4. Install driver assy. onto unit. Make sure it seats properly on hub spindle. NOTE: If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Antunes Technical Service IMMEDIATELY at 1-877- 392-7854. Equipment Setup When placing the unit into service, pay attention to the following guidelines. Make sure power to the unit is off and the unit is at room temperature. Do not block or cover any openings on the unit. Do not immerse cord or plug in water. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not allow cord to hang over edge of table or counter. Connect the unit to the power supply. Refer to the specification plate for the proper voltage. 140 A.J. Antunes & Co. Operating Instructions 1. Turn the rocker switch to the ON position. OPERATION 2. Place the desired amount of butter or margarine onto the stainless steel base. 3. Set the temperature control to the desired setting. 4. Wait approximately 15 minutes for the butter or margarine to melt before placing the cooked corn cobs between the driving arms. POWER 100 120 OFF 200 160 180 NOTE: When butter/margerine has melted, depth should not exceed 1/4". Rocker Switch (Power On/Off) Temperature Control IMPORTANT: The kernels may flatten out when corn is allowed to stay in the carousel for a long period of time. To prevent this, reduce the number of ears placed in the carousel during slow periods.. It is recommended that corn not be kept in carousel longer than 1-1/2 hours. Hi-Limit Reset Button A hi-limit thermostat will turn off electrical power to the heater and control circuits if the unit overheats. To reset this thermostat, allow sufficient time (10-15 min- Figure 2. Controls Hi-Limit Switch utes) for the unit to cool down, then depress the reset button located on the bottom of the unit (Figure 2). If hi-limit thermostat requires continuous resetting, contact your Roundup Authorized Service Agency for service. MAINTENANCE WARNING Turn the unit off, disconnect the power source and allow the unit to cool down before performing any service or maintenance on the unit. Cleaning 1. Remove driver assy. and wash in hot detergent water. Rinse in clear water. 2. Clean stainless steel top with damp cloth, rinse, and dry with clean cloth. CAUTION To prevent damage to the unit, do not use abrasive cleaners on the unit. These simple cleaning procedures should be performed after every use. To maintain the overall cleanliness of the carousel and to prevent unwanted dust from accumulating on the surface, cover the carousel when not in use. CAUTION Do not tilt unit on its side to drain butter or margarine. This will cause premature part failure due to seepage into the interior components. Replacing Components NOTE: It is recommended that all service procedures be performed by a qualified authorized service technician. NOTE: Reference numbers in procedures correspond to replacement parts on pages 10-11. POWER CORD REPLACEMENT 1. Turn off rocker switch (power on/off), unplug the power cord and allow the unit to cool down before proceeding. 2. Remove the adjustable legs (23), base plate (22) and insulation (21). 6 P/N 1010730 10/99

A.J. Antunes & Co. 3. Disconnect power cord wires from terminal block. 4. Remove strain relief nut (15) from outside of unit. 5. Squeeze strain relief and pull cord out. 6. Remove nut from inside of unit and remove strain relief. 7. Reverse steps 2-6 to install new power cord and/or strain relief. DRIVE MOTOR REPLACEMENT 1. Turn off rocker switch (power on/off), unplug the power cord and allow the unit to cool down before proceeding. 2. Remove the driver assy. (1). Unscrew the two screws (3) from top of the grill cone (4). These screws secure the motor mounting bracket to the inside of the cone. 3. Carefully turn unit over. Remove the adjustable legs (23), base plate (22) and insulation (21). 4. Disconnect the wires and carefully remove drive motor and bracket assembly. 5. Remove drive motor (10) from mounting bracket (9). 6. Assemble replacement motor to bracket and connect replacement motor wires. 7. Place the motor into the cone recess and align mounting holes. Carefully tilt the unit on end and secure motor with original screws (3). NOTE: Make sure grommet (s) is properly seated in cone. 8. Re-install insulation, base plate and legs. 9. Re-install driver assy. 10. Check for proper operation before placing unit into service. FAN REPLACEMENT 1. Turn off rocker switch (power on/off), unplug the power cord and allow the unit to cool down before proceeding. 2. Remove the driver assy. (1). Unscrew the two screws (3) from top of the grill cone (4). These screws secure the motor mounting bracket to the inside of the cone. 3. Carefully turn unit over. Remove the adjustable legs (23), base plate (22) and insulation (21). 4. Carefully pull fan from drive motor shaft. 5. Install replacement fan onto motor shaft with metal spring toward housing. Fan must be all the way onto shaft to allow clearance below to base plate. CAUTION Do not use excessive force or hammer to mount fan or damage to internal gear train will occur. Make sure all wires are clear so fan blade rotates freely. NOTE: Fan should slide on with finger pressure. If fan is too tight of a fit, drill fan hole bore to suit diameter of motor shaft. A.J. Antunes & Co. TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING To avoid possible personal injury and/or damage to the unit, service and repair of electrical equipment should be performed by qualified service personnel. LIMITED WARRANTY Equipment manufactured by Roundup Food Equipment Division of A.J. Antunes & Co. has been constructed of the finest materials available and manufactured to high quality standards. These units are warranted to be free from mechanical and electrical defects for a period of one year from date of purchase or 18 months from shipment from factory, whichever occurs first, under normal use and service, and when installed in accordance with manufacturer s recommendations. To insure continued proper operation of the units, follow the maintenance procedure outlined in the Owner s Manual. 1.This warranty does not cover cost of installation, defects caused by improper storage or handling prior to placing of the Equipment. This warranty does not include overtime charges or work done by unauthorized service agencies or personnel. This warranty does not cover normal maintenance, calibration, or regular adjustments as specified in operating and maintenance instructions of this manual, and/or labor involved in moving adjacent objects to gain access to the Equipment. This warranty does not cover consumable items such as platen release sheet and conveyor belt wraps. This warranty does not pay travel, mileage, or any other charges for an authorized service agency to reach the equipment location. 2.Roundup reserves the right to make changes in design or add any improvements on any product. The right is always reserved to modify equipment because of factors beyond our control and government regulations. Changes to update equipment do not constitute a warranty charge. 3.If shipment is damaged in transit, the purchaser should make a claim directly upon the carrier. Careful inspection should be made of the shipment as soon as it arrives and visible damage should be noted upon the carrier s receipt. Damage should be reported to the carrier. This damage is not covered under this warranty. 4.Warranty charges do not include freight or foreign, excise, municipal or other sales or use taxes. All such freight and taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser. 5.THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUD- ING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, EACH OF WHICH IS HEREBY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED.
