Clino Guard Safety without Compromise
Protection for disoriented persons Clino Guard, the disorientation care system from Ackermann, considerably simplifies the supervision of disoriented persons. If a resident or patient decides to leave the building without being accompanied by a member of the nursing staff or attempts to enter an unauthorized area alone, then, depending on the desired protection objectives, alarm signals are generated or protective devices activated. Unobtrusive but effective Clino Guard from Ackermann provides effective assistance in looking after those placed in care. The benefit of the system lies in the creation of virtual protection zones in which both patients in care as well as nursing staff, visitors and other residents can move around freely without feeling confined or restricted. This improves the quality of life of people in need of protection and offers the highest levels of safety and security. A considerable load is taken off nursing staff, to the benefit of the overall working atmosphere. Safety has the highest priority Particular importance has been placed on ensuring that detection is totally reliable. Active transponders with three-dimensional antenna coils are used; these have a long range and are reliably detected regardless of their orientation. The use of different frequencies in the system provides a high level of transmission reliability. The low quiescent frequency (25 khz) of the transmission units ensures the lowest levels of physical stress and optimum range adjustment, while the high operating frequency (868 MHz) guarantees high-speed and reliable data transfer when the transponder is within the secured area. A special process in the transmission unit adjusts the detection area within a fraction of a second when, for instance, large metal objects enter it. In the case of conventional processes, these would disrupt the magnetic field and prevent reliable detection. There are different transponders for nursing staff and patients. They are available in various designs, are equipped with reliable fasteners and can be worn in a variety of ways. These factors ensure a high level of acceptance. The technology used provides reliable operation with the extremely long-life, monitored battery. 2
Unobtrusive patient transponders are reliably detected by the transmission unit located near the door or a restricted area. Application In the simplest case, a transmission unit is installed near the door and creates a low-frequency, spherical detection area with a maximum radius of 6 m. Additional antenna are installed if required to provide optimum adaptation to the characteristics of the building. The transponders worn by patients and nursing staff are assigned to the transmission unit. When the transponder enters the detection area, it transmits its code. The transmitted code is evaluated by the unit: if the code is from a patient transponder, the system responds and a call is sent e.g. to the connected nurse call system. If required, the call is logged and signalled at the relevant location in accordance with the stored assignments. The message can also be forwarded as a text message, voicemail, etc. The call is suppressed if it comes from a nursing staff transponder, either in isolation or in combination with a patient transponder. Other activities can also be assigned if required: for example, door latches or elevator controls can be connected. In addition to personal safety, the system can naturally also be used for device security and logistics. Its modular concept enables flexible solutions with centralized technology to be employed to create transmission unit networks. Device parameters can be easily configured and assigned with the help of a graphical user interface. This permits a wide range of applications to be covered, extending from recognizing the direction in which someone is moving to the implementation of specifi c monitoring, identification and signaling applications. Panels 790P00 "Universal V" Transmission Unit Active transponder system with an adjustable radius of up to 6 m, reliable three-dimensional detection of patient and nursing staff transponders. Consisting of an antenna unit (868 MHz operating frequency, 25 khz quiescent frequency), an evaluating unit with relay contacts (change-over contact), integrated alarm device and 230 VAC power supply unit (integrated). With automatic field control (where possible) if noise is detected within the detection area. Can be extended with a relay card for group identification and an additional external antenna. Signaling of an alarm via the integrated relay contact, e.g. for forwarding to the nurse call system. Alarm suppression in the case of active acknowledgement by a nursing staff transponder (outside the active detection area, radius dependent on building characteristics: max. approx. 30 m), also if the nursing staff transponder is detected within the detection area of the transmission unit. Battery monitoring of transponder with fault signal if the battery capacity falls below 40 %. Can be connected to an external additional antenna, e.g. "LF wide area" (part no. 790P03), to match the detection area. Specifications Dimensions W: 250 mm H: 325 mm D: 63 mm antenna unit (868 MHz operating frequency, 25 khz quiescent frequency) evaluating unit with relay contacts (change-over contact) integrated alarm device 230 V power supply unit (integrated) 790P03 "Universal V IP64" Transmission Unit As part no. 790P00, but in outdoor housing with IP 64 protection. 4
Panel accessories 790P37 "V" Transmission Unit Relay Card To identify several persons or groups, the "Universal V" transmission unit can be extended with a relay card. Up to five persons or groups can be distinguished. The outputs can be used, for example, to connect to the nurse call system in order to generate dedicated messages on the relevant ward. A reader monitoring signal or a battery status message can also be generated if required. A patient transponder is assigned directly using the relay card / the "Universal V" transmission unit. 790P03 LF Additional Antenna (option) As an extension to the "wide area" transmission unit. This external additional "LF wide area" antenna must be used when the range extends beyond 5.5 m. Specifically for tailoring the detection area to the characteristics of the building: e.g. wide entrance doors. 790P033 Compact Additional Antenna Additional antenna for adapting the detection area to the specific characteristics of the building up to max. 3.5 m. 5
