Finished to match the unit exterior, these accessories may be installed in either a horizontal or vertical configuration (Refer to Figures 3 and 4). Coils are removable; allowing for easy cleaning and/or repairs. Installer should pay particular attention to the words: NOTE, CAUTION and WARNING. Notes are intended to clarify or make the installation easier. Cautions are given to prevent equipment damage. Warnings are given to alert installer that personal injury and/or equipment damage may result if installation procedure is not handled properly. INSTALLATION Indoor Unit Preparation: 1. Disconnect power (if any) to unit control box. 2. Disconnect wires from evaporator solenoid valve (Single system NC/NH /J**NC, 10, 15 and ton models only). 3. Remove four (4) bolts, washers and lock washers connecting blower section to DX coil section (See Figures 1 and 2). Keep hardware for Step 7. 4. Separate blower section and DX coil section. Accessory Installation: 5. Remove four (4) bolts, washers and lock washers from nutserts in heating coil accessory and set aside for Step 8. 6. Set heating coil accessory either on top of (vertical configuration) or next to (horizontal configuration) evaporator section. (See Figures 3 and 4). 7. Using hardware from Step 3, attach heating coil accessory to DX coil section. 8. Using hardware from Step 5, attach blower section to heating coil accessory. 9. Reattach solenoid wires from Step 2. Pass wires through bushing found in header baffle underneath heating coil headers. Wires MUST be routed behind headers to prevent having to disconnect them for heating coil removal. Use wire nuts provided. 10. Connect piping to the supply and return connections of the coil. Johnson Controls Unitary Products
11. Continue installation of unit according to unit Installation Instructions. 12. Connect Power removed in Step 1. MAINTENANCE The coil may be removed from the front (top) side of the casing (See Figures 5 and 6) using the following steps: Coil Removal: 1. Disconnect all piping. Hot water coils must NOT be used with steam under any circumstances. 2. Remove the front panel. 3. Remove the four screws attaching the two (2) coil brackets to the frame. 4. Slide the coil out through the opening. Steam pressure must be limited to 25 psig. If available steam pressure is greater than 25 psig, a pressure regulating valve must be installed and set for this maximum pressure. 2 Johnson Controls Unitary Products
