The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking and riding opportunities with several footpaths and bridleways passing close to and through the village.

Educational facitilies in the area are first class with good provision for children of all ages including of note the Royal Latin Grammar School. Stowe School in partictular is easily accesible being just 5 miles away. Also close to hand are; Thornborough Village School, Thornton School, Swanbourne School, Beachborough, Akeley Wood, Winchester House at Brackley and Tudor Hall, Nr Banbury.
