Benefit: The stepdown transformer converts 0V or 0V to 0V for operator protection against high voltage at the control switch. The VNG also has a heavyduty magnetic contactor that is protected from amp overload. unloader is an adjustable, pressure trapping valve attached to the pump. It is the mechanism that automatically releases the sudden build up of pressure that is caused when the operator releases the trigger on the gun and unloader valve stops the flow of water. When the flow is stopped, the unloader senses the build up of pressure and automatically blocks the water from the spigot and reroutes the water in the pump through a side hose and back into the pump.this recycling of the water continues until the trigger is pulled again, signally the unloader to send the water down the hose again and open the flow from the spigot or water supply. For hot water models, like the VHG, the unloader also has a flow-activated shut-off switch which shuts down the fuel to the burner when the trigger is released. Benefit: The unloader makes it possible to enjoy the convenience of a trigger gun while cleaning with a pressure washer without having to stop and start the machine each time.the flow-activated shut-off switch prevents the burner from overheating the water when the water flow has been stopped during the washing operation, thus protecting the operator from harm and the pressure washer from damage due to a build up of both pressure and heat. anti-siphon mechanism float tank provides backflow prevention. Benefit: Many city codes require an air gap between the water tank and the inlet supply. The float tank provides the needed buffer preventing cleaning or soapy water from backing into the water supply, such as the spigot or water tank. thermal pump protector is 7 attached to the inlet side of the high-pressure pump and monitors the water temperature as it passes through the pump. It opens a valve to dump hot water if the water temperature rises above an acceptable level during thermal pump protector bypass mode. Benefit: This protects the pump from being damaged by hot water. The water temperature can build up when the water constantly recycles out and back into the pump. This occurs when the operator leaves the pressure washer running for a long period of time without opening the trigger gun to release the water. rupture disk is located on the pipe coming out of the heating coil (discharge side) and is connected to a pressure relief hose. Benefit: It senses when the pressure in the system has exceeded acceptable levels and rupture disk immediately the replaceable diaphragm gives way allowing pressure to escape through a relief hose. This protects the operator from a potential hot water rupture in the plumbing or hose. The rupture disk has been proven to be the most effective protection against pressure build up, more reliable than pop off and pressure relief valves in the hot water environment. Easy to Service Access to the cabinet is easy and quick via two removable panels: () remove two thumb screws and a door on the side affords access to the pump and motor; () remove four thumb screws and the top panel is easily removed for access to the electrical box and float tank. access panels Benefit: Panels are conveniently located for getting to the key components quickly so there is minimal disassembly to make adjustment or repairs to these components. Service technicians appreciate the easy access when the equipment is located close to a wall or in other tight-fit situations. Thumb screws make the access even easier. Electrical wiring and controls are located in a water-resistant box easily accessed from the top. Simply open the lid and remove the top panel of the control box itself by removing screws. Benefit: Accessing the electrical box is easy, minimizing electrical box the time it will take a technician to reach the electrical controls. It is laid out in plain view from above adding to the convenience for a technician to service. A wiring diagram is enclosed in each control box. belt-drive pump is mounted on a U-shaped rail so the belt tension can be adjusted simply by loosening or tightening two bolts below the pump. Benefit: This is for the convenience a technician who, without the adjustable rails, adjustable belt tension would have to tug and pull on the pulleys to tighten the belt tension. Belt tension needs to be regularly tightened so the pump operates at optimum performance levels. cone lid atop the outer coil wrap is easily removed so it immediately exposes the coil. A sturdy, steel lifting beam, whose ends protrude from the side of the wrap, allows a technician to quickly lift the coil out of the wrap without easy access coil having to disassemble the coil wrap itself. Benefit: Repairing or replacing a heating coil is the worst nightmare for many technicians. It is dirty, cumbersome and sometimes takes up to an hour just to get it out. The VHG s quick-access design allows a technician, using a hoist, to remove a coil in minutes. Again, time is money when it comes to service or repairs. JIC (Joint Industrial Council) fittings are used for coupling major components, such as the pump and unloader. JIC fittings, with a flared end, are quick to remove plus they create a seal without the use of tape. Benefit: JIC fittings are jic fittings preferred because they are secure yet are easy to connect and disconnect, especially in those tight working areas so common in pressure washers. The easier the coupling, the faster the job. Reduced service time means reduced labor costs. JIC fittings make bypassing an unloader a breeze. gas valve is elevated along side the heating coil. Benefit: The gas valve often is up against a wall or tucked away under equipment. With it elevated and easy to access makes servicing quick and less costly. More importantly, by elevated gas valve elevating the gas valve above the burner and to the side of the coil prevents condensation from the coil or even rain from getting into and damaging the gas valve.

introducing... Page 7...the VHG How the VHG is... Functional Nozzles are what create the pressure or cleaning power of the pressure washer. The pump puts a large volume of water down the pipe quickly, but it s the tiny orifice of the nozzle that translates that flow volume into high pressure. Four colorcoded, hardened stainless high-pressure nozzles steel, high-pressure nozzles are mounted on the control panel at the front of the pressure washer cabinet. They are attached to the end of the wand with a quick coupling. The colors designate the spray patterns created by each nozzle: Red=0, Yellow=, Green= and White=0. Benefit: The hardened stainless steel means the nozzles will hold up well without rusting or disintegrating during months of regular operation. The nozzles are mounted on the front panel for easy access. They quick-couple to the end of the wand for convenience in switching nozzles while washing (however, DO NOT change nozzles while spraying). The colors allow the operator to identify quickly the flow patterns available. Having a variety of flow patterns from the narrow, focused 0 stream to the broad 0 spray gives the operator plenty of options to meet whatever cleaning task is at hand from blasting concrete or metal to washing down wood or asphalt. Adjustable valve on the front of the cabinet can be twisted to inject more or less detergent. Detergent can be injected while cleaning in high pressure mode. Benefit: The ability to adjust the flow of detergent gives the operator more control of the detergent metering valve washing effectiveness as well as conserve the cleaning solution. The metering valve is located on the front of the cabinet for the convenience of the operator. Tuff- Skin hoses are characterized by two, durable PVC sleeves on each end of the hose. On the end that attaches to the gun and wand, there is a -inch sleeve or hose guard and an 8-inch sleeve on the end that attaches to the pressure washer. hose guard Benefit: Both hose guards provide operator protection against a high-pressure burst. The -inch sleeve meets the UL-77 safety standard for owner liability protection. variable pressure wand is 0 inches long and consists of two steel tubes or pipes, which are adjoined and insulated. An easy-grip handle is mounted in the middle of the wand that, when twisted, increases or decreases the pressure. For variable pressure wand high pressure, all of the water stays in the main pipe and is forced through the nozzle that is quick-coupled at the end of the wand. For low pressure, the water is diverted to the second pipe and lightly sprays out the end. This reduces the flow volume in the main pipe thus reducing the pressure of the main water stream. A durable, plastic hood or nozzle covering is mounted at the end of the wand. Benefit: Having adjustable spray at the point of the wand helps the operator from damaging the object being cleaned. It also allows the operator to control the flow of detergent at the point of the wand when a downstream detergent injector is attached. The wand handle is turned to create a lowpressure flow, which immediately begins suctioning detergent into the spray. Then, with the twist of the handle, clean water comes out again as a high-pressure spray. The wand length prevents an operator from spraying him/herself. The easy-grip handle is mounted at the right angle for hours of fatigue-free spraying. The plastic hood covering the nozzles helps protect the object being washed from being bumped or scratched by the wand. swivel crimp fitting A swivel crimp fitting is located between the hose and the gun. Benefit: The swivel makes it easy to connect the gun to the hose. The swivel turns with the movement of the user for tangle-free washing. Landa s Tuff-Skin hose is the toughest high pressure hose in the industry. When tested to 9/DIN00, the Tuff- Skin has proven to be seven times more abrasion resistant than standard pressure washer hoses yet is 0% more flexible. It has a unique braid design and has been engineered for tuff-skin hose a greater continuous temperature range from 0 to 7 F / 0 F intermittent and for handling pressures of up to 800 PSI. The Tuff-Skin hose has maximum strength Class A ORS (Oil Resistance Standard) and features a bite-the-wire coupler that grips the hose better than any other design. The VHG hose is 0 feet in length. It also features a stainless steel rotor, dual seal swivel, flip-over hose guide, spring-action pin to prevent slippage when winding in the hose, and easyto-engage cam-lever brake. hose reel It is easily mounted in a prefabricated hose reel mount next to the heating coil on the VHG. Benefit: The hose reel is ideal for keeping a long hose such as the 0-ft. hose that comes with the VHG out of the way of traffic and tangle free. Besides making it easy to store the hose, the Landa hose reel is easy to wind due mostly to the smooth operation of the quality rotor and the unique flip-over guide which keeps the hose from jamming while winding it in. The pre-fabricated hose reel mount is for convenience in installing or even removing the hose reel quickly. VHG can be plumbed and wired to support up to four remote wash stations up to,000 feet away from the main unit. All the stations are fed by the one pressure washer yet each station is independently wired with a remote control box allowing the operator to turn on the pump, burner and detergent injection at the wash station (the main unit must be turned on once at the beginning of the day for the remote stations to work). Note: Only one work station can be used at a time. Benefit: Using remote stations is like having several pressure washers for the price of one. It automatically shuts down the pressure washer after a predetermined time (usually minutes) should it be left running with the trigger gun closed. Benefit: This safety feature time-delay shutdown gives the owner peace of mind that his/her investment will not be damaged by a careless operator who stops washing and walks off the job without shutting down the equipment.
