System Review
Control Heads In operation, a pilot cartridge is installed in the cartridge receiver. A cam arm, captured by the slide plate, holds a cam next to the puncture pin. CAM ARM PILOT CARTRIDGE (16 gram only)
Control Heads The slide plate is released by: Pulling a pull station or separation of a fuse link detector. The spring pulls the slide plate back operating the cam arm to puncture the cartridge and actuating the system. SLIDE PLATE
Control Heads There are two basic types of Control Heads: Mechanical or Electrical ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL
Control Heads Each type is available with: Local Actuation or No Local Actuation Attaches directly to PCL tank valve or Remotely mounted. NO LOCAL ACTUATION NOTE: Old flag style cover plates MUST NOT be used on newer style control boxes. LOCAL ACTUATION
Control Heads The electrical models are available: 120VAC 24VDC 24 VDC 120 VAC
Mechanical Control Heads The MCH3/NMCH3 Mechanical Control Head supports: Fusible link detection Remote mechanical pull stations Mechanical or electrical gas shutoff valves
ECH3 Electrical Control Heads The ECH3 Electrical Control Head supports: Thermal detection Remote mechanical pull stations Electrical gas shutoff valves
ECH3 Electrical Control Heads It s important to note that the ECH3 Control Head does not support fusible link detection systems.
ECH3 Electrical Control Heads A miniature doublepole, double-throw switch is included with the ECH3 Control Head. DOUBLE-POLE, DOUBLE-THROW MINIATURE ELECTRIC SWITCH
ECH3 Electrical Control Heads The EHC3 Control Head is available in either 120VAC or 24VDC 120 VAC All options offer the same release within the Control Head

EN-MCU3 Enclosure
EN-MCU3 Enclosure This stainless steel enclosure can be used when the owner wishes that the fire suppression system match the kitchen decor.
EN-S Enclosure This enclosure is used when additional tanks are required when matching to the kitchen decor.
Control Heads Each of the Control Heads can actuate up to five tanks by mounting the control head remotely and connecting to the tanks with ¼ inch actuation line.
MB-P2 Mounting Bracket Control Head mounted remotely requires the Control Head Mounting Bracket MB-P2. Caution: A control head screwed to the wall could warp the control head, not allowing the mechanism to actuate.
Pneumatic Actuating Cylinder PAC-10 If more than five tanks require actuation, a PAC-10 would be required.
Pneumatic Actuating Cylinder PAC-10 A PAC-10 is nitrogen pressurized to 350 psi at 70 o F (2413 kpa @ 21 o C). and comes packaged with its own wallmounting bracket.
Pneumatic Actuating Cylinder PAC-10 A PAC-10 assembly is a pneumatic actuation cylinder that can actuate up to a maximum of 10 agent tanks simultaneously using one of the four control head models.
Detection System The detection system can be either mechanical or electrical by use of the fuse link method for mechanical systems or thermal for electrical systems
Mechanical Fusible Link ML Style Link The fuse links are designed to separate at specific temperatures which releases the tension in the fuse link line thus actuating the suppression system.
Mechanical Fusible Link ML Style Link The fuse link temperature ratings are available in 165, 212, 280, 360, 450, and 500 o F. (73.8, 100, 137.8, 182.2, 232.2, & 260 o C)
Mechanical Fusible Link The temperature rating is stamped on the links along with the date of manufacturing. Pyro-Chem recommends fusible links be replaced every six months. TEMPERATURE RATING MANUFACTURED DATE
