Large sash windows flood the property with light and the elegant and symmetrical proportions are enhanced with some lovely details to the brickwork, the sweeping steps to the front door and the cupola with finials either side above the first floor arched window. The heavy fielded panel front door opens to the impressive reception hall, with a dividing staircase rising to a galleried landing above. The room is enhanced by the light oak flooring, and just off is the main cloakroom. Double doors open to the drawing room, nearly 26 feet long and with elegant open fireplace and two sets of French windows to the terrace. In the middle part of the house are the family room and dining room, both with good views over the rear garden. The kitchen/breakfast room is well fitted with a range of limed oak cabinets, which create a partial divide to the breakfast area, with views and French windows out to the terrace. A decent sized utility room and a cloakroom are adjacent. On the first floor, the large landing has a bay window, an ideal place for a desk. The master suite is well proportioned, and has an en-suite bathroom and two dressing rooms. There is a guest bedroom with an en-suite shower room, three further bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside The property is approached from Cades Orchard through a five bar gate to a large gravelled drive with access to the quadruple garage. This is a most attractive building that complements the house well. A well-stocked border lies against the house, and a hedge and trees provide privacy and interest. A path leads to the south-west facing rear garden, where a fine terrace wraps around the back and side of the house, with a brick wall with border behind. Steps lead to the lawns, and interest is created with strategically planted hedges, trees, and shrubberies. There is a timber summer house in one of the enclosed areas. In all, the gardens provide a fitting setting for the house, and a superb place in which to relax. Location Painter's Forstal is situated close to the medieval market town of Faversham, amidst orchards and open countryside. A range of facilities can be found in both Faversham and the cathedral city of Canterbury. The area has a good range of schools in both the state and private sector, with Lorenden Preparatory School in the village itself and The Kings School Canterbury further afield. Communications to London and the coast are good via the M2 and M20 (connecting to the M25), and via the A2 to Dover. Faversham station offers regular services to London Cannon Street and Victoria in about 1¼ hours and High Speed trains into St Pancras in just over an hour.
