GENERAL INFORMATION RONILAN EG is a contact fungicide for control of Botrytis spp. and Sclerotinia spp. in canola, dry common beans (including but not limited to white, kidney, navy, black (turtle), pinto, cranberry and pink), mung beans, adzuki beans, snap common beans (including but not limited to green, yellow and wax), lima beans, lettuce and strawberries. Thorough coverage of plant parts prior to infection is essential for effective disease control. DIRECTIONS FOR USE A. Application Rate and Timing Crop/Disease Snap Common and Lima Beans Gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) White Mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) Dry Common, Adzuki and Mung Beans White Mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) Canola Sclerotinia stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) Lettuce - Direct seeded and transplanted Lettuce drop (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) Strawberries Fruit Rot/ Gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) Application rate (kg/ha) 1.0-1.5* (2 applications per year) 1.0 (2 applications per year) OR 1.5 (1 application per year) 0.5 (2 applications per year) OR 0.75-1.0* (1 application per year) 1.1 (maximum of 3 applications per year) 2.0 (maximum of 4 applications per year) Time of application Apply at early bloom and a second application 7 days later at full bloom. Apply at early to mid bloom (30-50%) with a second application 7-14 days later at full bloom if the disease persists, or weather conditions are favourable for disease development. Apply at early to mid bloom (30-50%). Apply at early bloom (20-30%) with a second application 7 days later at late bloom (50%) if the disease persists, or weather conditions are favourable for disease development. One treatment at 20-50% flower. This will normally be about 4-8 days after beginning of flowering. Apply at 1-2 days after thinning for direct seeded or 5-7 days after transplantation. Second and third applications may be made at 10-day intervals. The first application should be made no later than 10% primary bloom and the last application should be before the end of the blooming period. Interval between applications will vary according to weather conditions and resulting disease pressure. * Use the high rate where conditions are extremely favourable for development of disease (heavy crop canopy, high humidity, and/or excessive rainfall). 1

Snap Common and Lima Beans Use sufficient spray volume to obtain a thorough coverage of the plant foliage. Use flat fan or cone type nozzles. RONILAN EG may not be applied within 14 days of harvest. Dry Common, Adzuki and Mung Beans Use sufficient spray volume to obtain a thorough coverage of the plant foliage. Use flat fan or cone type nozzles. Do not apply more than 2 kg/ha of RONILAN EG per season. RONILAN EG may not be applied within 45 days of harvest. Canola RONILAN EG may not be applied within 40 days of harvest. Aerial application For optimum control apply appropriate rate of RONILAN EG in sufficient water (minimum 40 L of water per ha and 275 kpa pressure) to obtain a thorough coverage of plant foliage. Apply RONILAN EG using standard aircraft equipment and practices. Ensure continuous agitation in the spray tank until the spray solution is sprayed out. Treat when wind is less than 8 kilometres per hour. Apply only by fixed-wing or rotary aircraft equipment which has been functionally and operationally calibrated for the atmospheric conditions of the area and the application rates and conditions of this label. Label rates, conditions and precautions are product specific. Read and understand the entire label before opening this product. Apply only at the rate recommended for aerial application on this label. Where no rate for aerial application appears for the specific use, this product cannot be applied by any type of aerial equipment. Ensure uniform application. To avoid streaked, uneven or overlapped application, use appropriate marking devices. 2

Use Precautions Apply only when meteorological conditions at the treatment site allow for complete and even crop coverage. Apply only under conditions of good practice specific to aerial application as outlined in the Basic Knowledge Requirements for Pesticide Education in Canada: Applicator Core and Aerial Module, developed by CAPCO. Do not apply to any body of water. Avoid drifting of spray onto any body of water or other non-target areas. Specific buffer zones should be observed. Coarse sprays are less likely to drift, therefore, avoid combinations of pressure and nozzle type that will result in finer particles (mist). Do not apply during periods of dead calm or when wind velocity and direction pose a risk of spray drift. Do not spray when the wind is blowing towards a nearby sensitive crop, garden, terrestrial habitat (such as shelter-belt) or aquatic habitat. Operator Precautions Do not allow the pilot to mix chemicals to be loaded onto the aircraft. Loading of premixed chemicals with a closed system is permitted. It is desirable that the pilot have communication capabilities at each treatment site at the time of application. The field crew and the mixer/loaders must wear chemical resistant gloves, coveralls and goggles or face shield during mixing/loading, cleanup and repair. Follow the more stringent label precautions in cases where the operator precautions exceed the generic label recommendations on the existing ground boom label. All personnel on the job site must wash hands and face thoroughly before eating and drinking. Protective clothing, aircraft cockpit and vehicle cabs must be decontaminated regularly. Product Specific Precautions Read and understand the entire label before opening this product. If you have questions, call the manufacturer at 1-877-371-BASF (2273) or obtain technical advice from the distributor or your provincial agricultural representative. Application of this specific product must meet and/or conform to the following: Volume: Apply the recommended rate in a minimum spray volume of 40 litres per hectare. Ground Application Apply RONILAN EG in sufficient water volume (minimum 110 to 220 L/ha) and 275 kpa to obtain a thorough coverage of the plant foliage. Ground application to canola is to be carried out using only closed equipment outfitted with an air filtration system. Tank Mix Combinations with Insecticides RONILAN EG fungicide can be tank mixed with Lorsban 4E and Pyrinex 480 EC in canola. The mixture will control sclerotinia stem rot as well as insect pests labeled on the products used. Always refer to the insecticide label for precautions, use instructions and restrictions. Failure to follow the rates and use and timing of application as recommended for each product will result in unsatisfactory control of target pests. 3

When tank mixing RONILAN EG with Lorsban or Pyrinex, always add the RONILAN EG to spray mixture, agitate until dissolved and then add Lorsban or Pyrinex. Ensure PVA packaging is completely dissolved prior to adding the insecticide. If the insecticide is added first, it may settle out and cause plugging of lines or nozzles. Lettuce RONILAN EG may not be applied within 28 days of harvest. Do not enter treated lettuce fields within 12 hours of treatment. Workers who must enter the fields within this time period should wear long-sleeved shirt, pants and chemical resistant gloves. Strawberries Use sufficient spray volume (minimum of 1000 L/ha) to obtain a thorough coverage of the developing fruit. Spray pressure of 425-850 kpa is recommended to obtain adequate penetration of the spray through the canopy. Cone-type nozzles and spray booms with at least 3 nozzles per row (1 over row, 2 side drops) are recommended. For full control of Botrytis disease, four applications are recommended during the flowering period to maximize efficacy. RONILAN EG does not control Rhizopus rot of strawberries in the field or in storage. If a heavy rainfall occurs any time during this spray schedule or if a wet period (light rain, fog or dew) lasting more than 24 hours occurs, immediate re-treatment is necessary as soon as conditions will allow the spray to dry on the plants. In order to avoid resistance, treat in spray programs with fungicides which belong to other chemical groups. The blossoms must be wetted well. Do not apply more than four times per year and no more than a total of 8 kg/ha per year. RONILAN EG may not be applied within 3 days of harvest. Workers should not enter treated strawberry fields within 3 days of treatment. Workers who must enter the fields within this time period should wear long-sleeved shirt and pants and chemicalresistant gloves. Treated strawberry fields must be posted with the statement: WARNING: Area treated with RONILAN EG on (date of application). Workers who must enter treated strawberry fields within 3 days of application should wear long-sleeved shirt and pants and chemical-resistant gloves. ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS Ground Application A 15 m buffer zone must be maintained between areas to be sprayed and aquatic systems such as ponds, drainage ditches and open waterways. 4

Aerial Application A 100 m buffer zone must be maintained between areas to be sprayed and aquatic systems such as ponds, drainage ditches and open waterways. RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS Do not treat any crops not listed on this label. Do not mix RONILAN EG with any registered pesticide not specifically recommended on this label. Do not allow livestock to graze on RONILAN EG treated crop. Do not use a product that contains boron. Boron will prevent water soluble bags from dissolving. If boron containing products have been used in previous applications, thoroughly wash the spray tank. If rainfall is imminent, delay spraying. When RONILAN EG is NOT applied according to label recommendations poor disease control may result. MIXING 1. Calibrate the spray equipment and check nozzle output. 2. Fill the mixing tank partially full with water (to obtain maximum agitation). 3. Individually add the appropriate number of RONILAN EG in PVA bags and continue agitation vigorously. 4. Close lid to mix tank. 5. Agitate until formulation is in suspension. 6. Add remaining volume of water. 7. Close lid and continue agitation until spray tank is filled. Agitate continuously to keep RONILAN EG in suspension. 8. Spray mixture immediately. Do not allow suspension to stand without agitation. In the event that spraying operation is interrupted, thorough agitation is required to bring RONILAN EG back into suspension. WARNING Do not exceed recommended or usually applied spray volumes. Observe recommended or registered application rates. Occupational exposure to this product can be reduced by strictly adhering to the handling precautions and use directions provided. 5

RESISTANCE-MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS For resistance management, please note that RONILAN EG contains a Group 2 fungicide. Any fungal population may contain individuals naturally resistant to RONILAN EG and other Group 2 fungicides. A gradual or total loss of pest control may occur over time if these fungicides are used repeatedly in the same fields. Other resistance mechanisms that are not linked to site of action but specific for individual chemicals, such as enhanced metabolism, may also exist. Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed. To delay fungicide resistance: Where possible, rotate the use of RONILAN EG or other Group 2 fungicides with different groups that control the same pathogens. Use tank mixtures with fungicides from a different group when such use is permitted. Fungicide use should be based on an IPM program that includes scouting, historical information related to pesticide use and crop rotation and considers cultural, biological and other chemical control practices. Monitor treated fungal populations for resistance development. If disease continues to progress after treatment with this product, do not increase the use rate. Discontinue use of this product, and switch to another fungicide with a different target site of action, if available. Contact your local extension specialist or certified crop advisors for any additional pesticide resistance-management and/or IPM recommendations for specific crops and pathogens. For further information and to report suspected resistance, contact BASF at 1-877-371-2273. PRECAUTIONS 1. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. 2. Do not take internally. 3. Avoid inhalation of vapour, dust or spray mist and contact with eyes, skin or clothing. 4. Do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash hands and face thoroughly before eating, drinking or smoking. 5. Protective clothing must be worn when measuring, mixing, handling product and during equipment cleanup and repairs. 6. PVA bags are water soluble and will dissolve in water. After opening the outer package, drop the required number of unopened pouches into the spray tank as directed. Avoid handling the water soluble bag as this may cause breakage. Do not allow bags to become wet prior to adding to the spray tank. Reseal outer package to protect remaining bags. 6
