Control information The IRONING PLATE is the heated, non-stick surface that is used to press fabrics, remove wrinkles and create creases. The HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates when the Temperature Dial is set to one of the three heat settings. The POWER CORD CLIP holds the power cord securely when wrapped around the base of the Hand Grip for storage. The WATER TANK CAP covers the Water Tank fill hole. The Water Tank Cap is tethered to the unit, and cannot be completely removed. The WATER TANK WINDOWS let you monitor the level of water in the Water Tank. The unit must be sitting upright to correctly read the water level. The STEAM BUTTON is pressed to activate the unit's steam function. Locking the Steam Button down disables steam; pressing the Steam Button releases it into the unlocked position, enabling steam. The TEMPERATURE DIAL is turned to select one of three heat settings, and to turn heating off. The SETTINGS INDICATOR ARROW tells you at what temperature your dial is set. The HAND GRIP is ergonomically designed for user comfort. The Hand Grip contains the unit's Water Tank, and the base is specially designed for the power cord to be wrapped around for storage. The INTERNAL WATER TANK, located inside the Hand Grip, is designed to hold a maximum of 1 oz. of water. 4
The VOLTAGE SELECTOR is the recessed switch which is used to set the unit to either 100-127V or 220-240V electrical voltage standards. By default the Voltage Selector is set to 100-127V. The STANDS are the two supports located at the rear of the main body. The Stands are designed to support the unit in an upright position when the Ironing Plate is hot. The MEASURING CUP is designed to help you easily and consistently fill the Water Tank with the optimum amount of water. operation PROPER GRIP Main body surface can get hot. Grip the Steam Bug using the HAND GRIP only. NOTE: Use care when ironing. Shut power off and unplug iron after each use. SETTING VOLTAGE Steam Bug is dual-voltage, which allows it to function correctly in regions with either 100-127V or 220-240V electrical voltage standards. Voltage is set using the VOLTAGE SELECTOR. IMPORTANT: By default, the VOLTAGE SELECTOR is set to 100-127V. Be sure to select the correct voltage for your location before plugging the POWER CORD into an electrical outlet. 5
To change the voltage from 100-127V default setting: 1. Locate the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH, recessed inside the slot at the rear of the Steam Bug (see below). Voltage Selector Switch 2. Slide the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH to the right, so that it is closest to the 220-240V label. (A pen tip may be used.) 3. Unit is now ready for use in a 220V region. 4. To use again in a 100-127V region, slide the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH to the left, so that it is the closest to the 100-127V label. FILLING WATER TANK (FOR STEAM IRONING) 1. 2. Place unit (IRONING PLATE down) on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Fill MEASURING CUP with water up to MAX mark. NOTE: In order to extend the life of your iron and keep it functioning at maximum potential, it is highly recommended that distilled or demineralized water be used in the INTERNAL WATER TANK. 3. Open WATER TANK CAP. 4. Pour water from MEASURING CUP into INTERNAL WATER TANK. 5. Close WATER TANK CAP. 6

When HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT turns off, press the STEAM BUTTON. The button will lock into raised position, and unit will begin emitting steam from steam vents on IRONING PLATE. NOTE: Unit is designed to steam horizontally. Steam flow will stop whenever unit is in vertical upright position. 3. To stop steam flow, press the STEAM BUTTON again to lock it into lowered position. DRY IRONING IMPORTANT: Make sure the STEAM BUTTON is locked in lowered position before dry ironing. This will prevent any water from accidentally dripping. 1. Plug in POWER CORD. 2. Turn the TEMPERATURE DIAL clockwise so that the SETTINGS INDICATOR ARROW points to one of three heat settings on the TEMPERATURE DIAL. The HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT will illuminate. NOTE: Start with lower temperatures first. High settings are designed for heavy materials and can damage delicate fabrics. 3. When the HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT turns off, IRONING PLATE is heated and ready for use. 7
NOTE: During use the HEATING INDICATOR LIGHT will cycle on and off as unit works to maintain a constant temperature. IMPORTANT: Once all ironing tasks are finished, immediately turn the TEMPERATURE DIAL counterclockwise until it is set to off (O) position. Be sure the STEAM BUTTON is locked in lowered position this will prevent water from accidentally dripping during next use. Prop unit upright on STANDS to cool. Refer to Cleaning & Storage guidelines (below) for proper cleaning and storage. Cleaning and storage 1. 2. 3. 4. Turn the TEMPERATURE DIAL to the OFF (O) position. Unplug POWER CORD, and if iron is hot, prop it upright on STANDS to cool for at least 30 minutes. Open WATER TANK CAP and drain any remaining water. Close cap when finished. Wipe main body of iron and IRONING PLATE with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water. DO NOT clean IRONING PLATE with detergents or descalers. DO NOT clean IRONING PLATE with abrasive or corrosive products. DO NOT submerge unit or hold unit under running water. 5.
