WHAT IS URBAN DESIGN? Urban Design considers the development of our towns, cities, streets and spaces. It is the collaborative and multi-disciplinary process of shaping the physical setting for life in cities, towns and villages; the art of making places; design in an urban context. Urban Design involves the design of buildings, groups of buildings, spaces and landscapes, and the establishment of frameworks and processes that facilitate successful development. Urban Design is an integral part of the planning process. Pegasus Group s experience embraces large scale urban extensions, strategies for area regeneration and detailed design. We excel in providing distinctive, integrated and sustainable developments that are based on a firm understanding of existing movement networks, the existing landscape and the surrounding urban fabric.
WHAT DO URBAN DESIGNERS DO? Our work is often in support of planning applications and we have a very good understanding of the development control process and planning policy requirements in relation to design. Some of our core services include:
Masterplanning
Detailed Design
Design Codes and Guides
Movement Network Studies
Design and Access Statements
3D Visualisation
