Heater On/Off Power On/Off Heater Indicator Light Increases Flow Indicator Bar - Shows water flow volume Decreases Flow Lighted User Keypad Your Kallista Whirlpool Your new whirlpool is designed to stimulate, invigorate, and energize your body with comforting hydro-massage therapy. The whirlpool consists of: Components Bath - acts as a reservoir for water, providing a location for the hydro-massage action. User Keypad - located within easy reach, the keypad allows you to turn the whirlpool and heater on and off and regulate the water flow through the jets. Pump/Motor - provides quiet, variable speed power to circulate the water, and create the soothing hydro-massage action. Adjustable Jets - positioned to optimize their hydro-massage effect, the jets allow you to adjust the air and water flow and control the flow direction as you desire. Heater - automatically helps maintain the water temperature up to 104 F (40 C) to enhance your hydro-massage experience. The heater turns on automatically when the whirlpool is operating, then turns off when the pump/motor is turned off. The heater may be turned off using the user keypad at any time while the pump/motor is operating. Remote Control - submersible control that allows you to control the whirlpool functions from either inside or outside the bath. Refer to the Homeowners Guide packed with the remote control for proper operation. Lighted User Keypad Available modes will be illuminated in blue. Active modes will be illuminated in green. Power Turns the keypad, hydro-massage system pump, and heater on or off. Heater Automatically engages when the power icon is selected. Press the heater icon to turn the heater off. Press the icon again to turn the heater back on. The heater will help maintain the water temperature up to 104 F (40 C). Heater Indicator Illuminates when the heater is on. Position the jet nozzles so they face down toward the basin. NOTE: The water temperature in the whirlpool should never exceed 104 F (40 C). A built-in heater automatically maintains the water temperature when the whirlpool is running, as long as the water temperature does not exceed 104 F (40 C). The heater will disengage at higher temperatures. Close the drain, then fill the whirlpool to a level at least 2 (51 mm) above the top of the highest jet. Use your hand to test the water temperature for comfort and safety, then carefully enter the bath. Press the power icon on the lighted user keypad to turn on the pump/motor. The water will flow at medium volume and the heater will automatically engage. Increase or decrease the water flow by pressing the up or down arrows on the lighted user keypad. Heater Increases Flow Power Decreases Flow Remote Control The waterproof remote control is designed to be used in the bath and will float in the water. The remote control places the whirlpool functions at your fingertips to further enhance your bathing experience. The functions of the remote control are identical to the user keypad. Batteries To install or replace batteries: Unscrew the cap, then insert two AAA batteries (not included) as illustrated. Securely tighten the cap, ensuring the cap makes contact with the seal. Program NOTE: Programming of the remote control is normally not required. If more than one device in your home, or in the near vicinity of your home, uses a remote control, it may be necessary to program this remote control to the user keypad. If you replace your remote control, or replace the pump control, it may be necessary to program the remote control. Turn the whirlpool power on. Turn off all modes of operation. Wait approximately 1 minute until the keypad darkens completely (sleep mode). On the user keypad, press the up arrow, down arrow and the OK button simultaneously. The bottom LED, on the keypads indicator bar, will begin flashing. While the LED is flashing, press the OK button on the keypad. A light sequence will illuminate up and down the indicator bar. While the indicator bar light sequence is active, press any button on the remote control. The program will download and the user keypad will darken. The user keypad will now respond only to this remote control. Flush the System NOTE: Flush your whirlpool system twice a month or more, depending upon usage. Turn the jet trim rings fully clockwise to remove air induction. Fill the whirlpool with warm water to a level at least 2 (51 mm) above the highest jets, or leave water in the whirlpool after using. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of a low-foaming dishwasher detergent and 20 ounces (590 ml) of household bleach (5% - 6% sodium hypochlorite) to the water. Run the pump/motor for 5 to 10 minutes. Turn off the pump/motor and open the drain. 1019455-5-E 6 Kallista

Flush the System (cont.) Rinse all surfaces of the whirlpool with water, then wipe the surfaces dry with a soft cloth. Care and Cleaning Rinse the whirlpool thoroughly after each use and use a soft cloth to wipe it dry. IMPORTANT! Use water-soluble cleaners (dissolve 100% in water). Cream-base cleaners may have a tendency to build up, reducing the friction on slip-resistant surfaces. Express Bathroom Cleaner may be used on the Safeguard surface of your whirlpool. It is not sold commercially. Call 1-800-470-8337 to order. You may use a soft nylon brush on the Safeguard surface. For detailed cleaning information and products to consider, visit www.kallista.com. Remove the Jets Insert the tool hook as shown and pull the jet out of the housing. The jet should be facing up when this is done. Reinstall the Jets Housing Inspect and lubricate the O-ring. Slide the O-ring onto the first shoulder of the jet. Insert the jet into the housing, and lightly push and rotate until it snaps in position. Troubleshooting Remove the Jets NOTE: The jet tool (provided with the whirlpool and trim kit) will allow you to remove the jets from the whirlpool. Position the jet ball nozzle so it is pointing upward. NOTE: The nozzle must remain pointed up or the tool will slip off. Insert the removal tool, hooked end up, into the opening of the jet and hook the inside top of the nozzle. Grasp the tool firmly and place your thumb against the whirlpool wall. Pull steadily on the tool until the jet assembly pulls free of the hole. Be careful not to lose the O-ring. Reinstall the Jets NOTE: To allow easy rotation and proper operation of the jet, the O-ring must be: (1) correctly positioned, (2) lubricated, and (3) in good condition. Install the O-ring onto the first shoulder of the jet. Using the silicone lubricant packet (provided), lubricate the O-ring to prevent noisy operation of the jet. Carefully insert the jet into the housing, then lightly push and rotate the jet until it snaps into position. Do not force the jet. Verify that the jet is installed correctly. The jet should turn smoothly both clockwise and counterclockwise. Remove and reinstall, if necessary. This troubleshooting guide is for general aid only. A qualified electrician should correct any electrical problems. For warranty service, contact your dealer or wholesale distributor. 1019455-5-E 8 Kallista
