Disconnect all power to unit being serviced. 2. Remove cover from electrical enclosure, disconnect 6-pin block connector from main harness and 10-pin connector from relay board, and remove relay board. 3. Install new relay board. 4. Connect 6-pin connector on new control to main harness. 5. Unplug both 10-pin connectors from control module and remove it. Do not discard screws. 6. Install new control module using existing screws. 7. Remove existing inter connect harness. 8. Cut off the door switch wires (two solid black wires) at the 10-pin connector on the existing sensor harness. 9. Remove existing temperature probes from cabinet and install new ones. It may be necessary to use the existing probe wire to pull the new probe wire through the cabinet or in some cases to cut the existing probes off and use the wire to connect the new probes. Install the new evaporator probe in the same relative location as the existing red probe. Only two probes are required with the new control on both refrigerators and freezers. Be sure to keep track of which probe is installed in the coil and inside cabinet. 10. Connect evaporator probe to terminals marked EVAP on new control. 11. Connect probe from cabinet to terminals marked ZONE. 12. Connect door switch wires to the two red wires protruding from the door relay module. 13. Plug new inter connect harness into back of display and control board. 14. Replace cover on electrical enclosure. 15. Restore power to unit. NOTE: The button for programming the control are underneath gray plastic piece that surrounds the display. RF000059 RF000060 1 of 6

ERC2 Control Instructions PROGRAMMING The ERC 2 control initially powers up displaying 12:00 AM otherwise it will show the last configured selection (time or temperature). If a power outage occurs during normal operation, the control will maintain the correct time-of-day using a capacitor (batteries not required). The time will be maintained for up to 100 hours when the capacitor is fully charged, To initiate a Manual Defrost, press and hold the MAN DEF key for 3 seconds. There are two levels of programming in the ERC 2. The first level of security will enable the user to set two parameters: Timeof-day (CLoC) and Setpoint temperature (SEt). The other level allows access to the other parameters. Three buttons are used for the programming: SET, UP and DOWN Fig. 2 Display Lay-out Follow these steps to change time-of-day and setpoint temperature (First Level): Step 1 Press and hold set for 5 seconds. The display will show CLoC Step 2 Press SET again to change time-of day Step 3 Step 4 or Press UP or DOWN until the correct time-of-day is displayed Press SET to accept the new time Step 5 Press DOWN to go to the next parameter Setpoint temperature SEt (cut out) Step 6 Press SET to change the setpoint temperature Step 7 Step 8 or Press UP or DOWN to go to the desired setpoint. The range is -40 to 60 F or -40 to 16 C Press SET to accept the change Step 9 Press DOWN to exit the first level of programming. NOTE: During programming, if no button is pushed during 30 seconds, the control will go back to the normal operating mode. This is valid for both programming levels. NOTE: When changing the time, press and hold the MAN DEF button for 3 seconds to change the AM/PM mode. 3 of 6

To change the other parameters (Second Level) follow these steps: Step 1 Press and hold SET and DOWN for 10 seconds. The display will show dspl Step 2 and Press SET to change the parameter Step 3 Step 4 or Press UP or DOWN to change the options, time or temperature for the current parameter Press SET to accept the new value Step 5 Press DOWN to go to the next parameter. Then go back to Step 2. After the last parameter is displayed (ALHi), the display will go back to the normal operating condition NOTE: To scroll down the parameters without changing them, press the DOWN button.
