MEET KATY SKELTON A Savannah-based furniture designer, Katy Skelton s line of dining room, living room, and home office furniture blends unique, modern, and nostalgic designs built upon the guiding principle of socially responsible manufacturing practices. Furniture design is about creating emotional connections while building memories that extend from generation to generation, said Katy. We re excited to become part of the American household with an array of high quality, timeless pieces that feature a contemporary nod to the classic and sleek designs of the mid-century. We blend premium materials with experienced craftsmanship. Katy has a Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She draws from years of industry experience with leading brands, including West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Four Hands, and has served on the board of the American Society of Furniture Designers. Her designs have been featured in Elle Décor, Food and Wine, House Beautiful, Vogue.com, In Style.com, The Wall Street Journal, and in Design*Sponge, among others.
I BELIEVE THAT FURNITURE CAN ENERGIZE A SPACE... MEET JOHN SORENSEN-JOLINK Based in Brooklyn, NY, John became fascinated by design and the arts at a young age, studying everything from the violin to photography and eventually focusing on dance and choreography. A few years ago, after becoming fascinated by the connections between dance and design, he created his design studio, Coil + Drift, furthering his exploration of objects in space. He honed his woodworking skills while working around the brilliant craftspeople at Makeville Studios and in private apprenticeships. He designs furniture and objects using choreographic principles. I believe that furniture can energize a space and should be well used and loved every day. I strive to find refreshing ways to combine age-old craftsmanship with modern form, said John. John holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from New York University.
