Lateral Stabilization Surgical stabilization of a cranial cruciate ligament rupture using extracapsular suture techiniques was first described by DeAngelis and Lau decades ago. When our engineers first started looking at the technique in 1997 the best solution available was using fishing line and tying knots. It was clear to us, at the time, there had to be a better way. Over the years that followed, our engineers developed the crimp clamp system and upgraded the suture materials from fishing line to a certified monofilament. However, we didn t stop there. We continued to design better and more ergonomic crimping tools, precise tensioning devices and introduced high strength fibers to the procedure. Our designs became the standard of care.
