FLAGSHIP PROJECT Innovation InnoPlatform Beneficiaries from: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Albania, fyrom Lead Partner: Center for Knowledge management (fyrom) Budget: 715.486,65 Advances existing knowledge on business model innovations; Develops a set of tools and services for improving SMEs capacities, opportunities and knowledge in introducing product and process innovations; Will establish an infrastructure of Centres of Excellence in the five BalkanMed countries for providing knowledge, guidance and expertise in innovations to SMEs. 6

FLAGSHIP PROJECT Environment DISARM Beneficiaries from: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece Lead Partner: National Observatory of Athens (Greece) Budget: 1.028.547,50 The project develops a wildland fire risk assessment tool that includes long-term and short-term fire danger forecasting; a near real-time observatory of wildland fire activity; a rapid-response wildland fire modeling used for supporting operational fire suppression activities, an observatory and early warning system on droughts, enabling improved drought risk management. 7

COMPLEMENTARITY AS SUCCESS FACTOR EUSAIR - Greece, Albania BMP Priority Axis 1 contributes to: the EUSAIR T.O. 3, by targeting the competitiveness of SMEs, aiming at sustainable economic growth and business opportunities. EUSAIR focuses only on blue economy by providing potentials for complementarity and synergies, while BMP is free of any particular sector; competitiveness is also tackled by supporting SMEs capacities under training schemes. BMP Priority Axis 2 contributes to: the EUSAIR T.O. 6, by tackling the environment & resources efficiency: EUSAIR gives clear emphasis to the Maritime Spatial Planning. BMP can boost blue growth opportunities, anchoring a strong maritime pillar to the programme strategy. At the same time integrated approach for sustainable growth can mitigate the land sea environmental pressures suffered throughout the coastlines. EUSDR - Bulgaria BMP Priority Axis 1 contributes to: the EUSDR pillar Building prosperity : EUSDR PA 07 "To develop the Knowledge Society (research, education and ICT)"; EUSDR PA 08 "To support the competitiveness of enterprises"; EUSDR PA 09 "Investing in People and Skills". the EUSDR pillar Strengthening the region : EUSDR PA 10 Stepping up institutional capacity and cooperation". BMP Priority Axis 2 contributes to: the EUSDR pillar Protecting the environment : EUSDR PA 04 To restore and maintain the quality of waters ; EUSDR PA 05 To manage environmental risks EUSDR PA 06 To preserve biodiversity, landscapes and the quality of air and soil. PanoraMed Project BMP Priority Axis 1 & 2 relates to: Coastal & Maritime Tourism Maritime Surveillance BalkanMed is an Associate Partner Post2020 WestMed Initiative BalkanMed countries do not participate 8
