The heat from the sun is green, free and really smart MANY AREAS OF APPLICATION You can use solar heating in many different ways. It is most common to let the solar panels produce hot water during the summer half of the year. You also get heat in addition to that provided by the primary heat source, which may be wood, pellets or a heat pump, for example. Many people use solar panels to heat their swimming pool cheaply and easily. ACCUMULATOR A WATER RESERVOIR Solar panels must always be connected to some form of water reservoir to be able to store the heat from the sun. The size of the reservoir is determined by the number of solar panels. If the house needs no more than 2 solar panels, Värmebaronen's double-jacketed electric boiler Elomax 250 can be used. Additional solar panels require one or more accumulator tanks. They can be connected to each other so that they contain several thousand litres of water. REPAIR, ALTERATION AND EXTENSION DEDUCTION AND GRANTS It is often possible to get grants and/or tax deductions when you install solar panels. In the winter, when it is coldest, you use pellets/wood for heating. 0ºC In the rest of the year (April, May, June, July, August and September), the solar panels take over the heating and hot -10ºC water. In this way, each type of energy is used when it is most efficient. Solar panels are also excellent with a heat pump. The heating costs less and the pump lasts longer. Optimise your heat pump HEAT PUMP AND SOLAR PANELS Heat pumps work well and are efficient when the temperature outside is not too low. At low temperatures, heat pumps are not particularly cost-efficient. Solar panels can help by heating a heat pump's energy store. They can also generate additional heat on winter days to help a heat pump work optimally. During the summer half of the year, the solar panels take over completely, the energy store is charged and the heat pump can rest. Solar panels can therefore also extend the service life of the pump's compressor. Aqualux Teknik OPTIMUM SOLAR ACCUMULATORS Aqualux Teknik is available in sizes 500, 750 and 1000 litres. They are able to handle several heat sources at once without the important stratification in the tank being disturbed. As far as we know, Aqualux Teknik are the only accumulators on the market that can do this, with the result that you save even more money on your solar panel investment. Aqualux Teknik has a built-in solar coil for thermal transfer from the solar panels. A solid copper-lined water heater ensures that there is enough hot water. The tanks are carefully insulated and easily comply with the recommendations made by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning. Brief facts about solar panels GENERAL Solar panels can produce hot service water and provide heating for your house. Well-dimensioned solar panels can normally meet all your hot water needs from April to September. For the rest of the year, they provide additional energy for the house's primary heating system. Up to 75% of all hot water consumption over a year can be produced by solar panels. Solar panels DIMENSIONING It is important for solar panels to be dimensioned according to energy needs. The energy needed in the summer is always the factor that determines the size of the system. It is usually enough to have one K2 panel per person, but it can vary between different households. If the solar panels are underdimensioned, the tank will have a low working temperature and there will not be enough hot water if the weather is poor. If they are overdimensioned, there is a risk of stagnation (boiling) in the solar panels if the weather is good. If the house needs to be heated in the summer (for example underfloor heating in a bathroom) or if you want to heat a swimming pool, the size of the solar panels must be calculated on that basis. Installation options OFF-THE-SHELF PACKAGES FOR ALL ROOFS You make your choice on the basis of the free roof surface and the appearance that suits the house best. The number of solar panels varies with the household's individual need for hot water and heat. Solar panels are best located next to the ridge of the roof. Värmebaronen has off-the-shelf packages for all roof types with everything you need. This saves time and money. RECESSED INSTALLATION The tiles are removed and replaced with solar panels. Plates are installed around the panels to create a seal with the roof. Recessed installation produces an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Horizontal recessed installation SURFACE INSTALLATION A simple method of installation in which the solar panels are installed on top of the existing roof material, for example tiles, tin roof or felt. STAND FOR FLAT ROOFS/WALLS A stand that can be infinitely extended for flat roofs or wall installation. FREESTANDING INSTALLATION Freestanding installation is used if the position of the house's roof is unsuitable. The solar panels are placed on a stand that is available as an accessory.
