EMS State Aggregate Report Completed and submitted the Fourth Quarter State Aggregate Repot for 2016. CERT Competed Unit 1 - Disaster Preparedness; Unit 2 - Fire Safety and Utility Controls; Unit 3 - Disaster Medical Operations Part I; Unit 4 - Disaster Medical Operations Part 2. The next class will be February 12th and we will cover: Light Search and Rescue Operations. Ferry Over the last few weeks due to rain and winds the Pacidia Ferry would not run and fire personnel had to use the Hideaway Ferry. We had shift exchange at 08:00 AM instead of 10:00 AM, due to the winds being calmer in the early morning. All the captains have told me if any emergency call came in during transit they would return to the island immediately. They stated the ferry could make the run in less than five minutes from the mainland for an emergency. This is still much faster that Charlotte County Fire Rescue could even respond to their boat. Number of Incidents Today and FY 2016 To date LGIFR responded one incident. For FY 2016 there were a total of 36 incidents. These were various emergencies with approximately 23% of these calls fire related in FY 2015. Emergency medical related incidents account for approximately 57% of the calls answered by the Fire Rescue Department in FY 2016, which was below the average norm of 70%. Fire related incidents were 19%.
