This modification is for the addition of code required doors and electrical devices to obtain a building permit. The modification will exceed the previously approved contingency award. Therefore, we request approval raising the contingency to $134,143 to award this contract modification for the following elementary schools: Edmondson Heights, Featherbed Lane, Franklin, Grange, Hillcrest, Middlesex, and McCormick. (GVA) to provide design, bidding, and construction administration services associated with the expansion and renovation of the Food and Nutrition Warehouse in Cockeysville. This contract modification is for additional construction document development requested by BCPS to facilitate bidding the project. Contract Modification: General Contractor Construction Services Contract Kenwood High School Addition and Technology Wing Renovation Contract #: MWE-817-06 Term: Extension: Contract Ending Date: Estimated annual award value: $10,993,500 Estimated modification amount: $25,102 On March 28, 2006, the Board awarded a construction contract to James W. Ancel, Inc. (JWA). During demolition activities in the existing Technology Building, steel columns were exposed as an unforeseen condition. Masonry work is needed to provide an acceptable finish on interior walls. Award of contract modification is recommended to: James W. Ancel, Inc. Towson, MD Capital budget 11}

Contract Modification: Systemic Renovation - Loch Raven Technical Academy School Contract #: MBU-599-06 Term: Extension: Contract Ending Date: Estimated annual award value: $13,801,000 Estimated modification amount: $37,184 On July 11, 2006, the Board approved this contract for the renovation of Loch Raven Technical Academy. This contract modification includes all of the work necessary to install the metal panel wall systems within the linkage corridors. The architect has reviewed the proposal and found it to be reasonable. Award of contract modification is recommended to: James W. Ancel, Inc. Towson, MD Capital budget 12}

Contract Modification: Systemic and Programmatic Renovation Sudbrook Magnet Middle School Contract #: PCR-261-07 Term: Extension: Contract Ending Date: Estimated annual award value: $13,190,871 Estimated modification amount: $ 22,000 Not-to-Exceed On May 8, 2007, the Board approved a contract for the renovation of selective HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems; ADA and restroom upgrades; enhancements to science classrooms; and new windows, fire alarm, sprinkler system, electrical, gas, and water services. The contract design included pulling (direct-burial cable) electric from a manhole close to the transformer site. BGE has now stated that the new service must be brought in from the street (~300 ft away from transformer) through the conduit. Contract Modification: Systemic Renovation Woodlawn Middle School Contract #: MWE-829-06 Term: Extension: Contract Ending Date: Estimated annual award value: $15,324,000 Estimated modification amount: $29,590 On June 13, 2006, the Board approved a contract with Phillips Way, Inc., for the systemic renovation of Woodlawn Middle School. The built-in teachers closets in the existing classrooms were replaced with new cabinets where walls were removed. Due to code requirements, new cabinets are required for the remaining classrooms since the top shelving would have to be eliminated for fire sprinkler installation. Award of contract modification is recommended to: Phillips Way, Inc. Finksburg, MD Capital budget The PDK audit does address this item. 14}

Fee Acceptance: Design Services - Inwood Bus Maintenance/Dispatch Building Contract #: PCR-292-08 (Project 08-01) Term: Extension: Contract Ending Date: Estimated annual award value: $148,900 Estimated total award value: $148,900 On November 6, 2007, the Board approved a fee negotiation with URS Corporation for the design of various transportation projects. This design task is for a new maintenance building at the Inwood bus lot that will include a two-bay bus repair facility, supporting tool storage, offices, record area, and restrooms. Award of fee acceptance is recommended to: URS Corporation Hunt Valley, MD Capital budget 15}
