Key advantages of OSO products: Extremely low weight OSO utilizes Duplex stainless steel in all Super Series units. The material s high tensile strength enables us to use less raw material, and still achieve high strength and extremely low weight. Minimum heat loss OSO has developed the ECO Foam insulation. This is environmentally friendly (uses water as blowing agent), while at the same time providing optimum insulation capabilities. High efficiency and capacity The water temperature of Super Series water heaters is higher than most others, at 70 C. Higher temperature means more hot water available in a smaller unit. High corrosion resistance The combination of Duplex steel and laser welding on the Super Series, as well as the molybdenum enriched ferritic steel used on all other product series, provides high corrosion resistance. Environmentally correct procedures The environment has been at the core of our business for more than 40 years. The creation of our own ECO foundation in 1995 has supported numerous environmental projects, and we are dedicated to spending 5 % of our profits each year on the environment. Super Coil - SCI - with integrated expansion vessel Heating coils in OSO cylinders are made of smooth coil that will not encourage limescale deposits and offer longer and more efficient life than finned or rippled coils. OSO coils have increased length compared to finned coils, carry more heating fluid and therefore have a greater heat transfer capacity. Next generation unvented cylinder The Super Coil is the indirect version within the Super Series range and has a unique, integrated expansion solution factory fitted. All pipes & connections are also hidden under an insulated top lid. Factory fitted components drastically reduces fitting time, making the Super Series virtually a pre-plumbed unit. Laser welded Duplex Stainless Steel makes the Super Series extremely lightweight & space efficient for easy handling & installation. Low heat loss, secondary return, impressive heat up & recovery times and a 25 year guarantee. The OSO Super Coil is a quantum leap in unvented cylinder design. The integrated expansion vessels make the cylinder extremely compact in height. Super Coil will fit in a cylinder cupboard 650mm wide. All plumbing connections and electrical cables are hidden from view giving the neatest possible installation. Adjustable feet are also integrated. The factory fitted blending valve limits the temperature of the outgoing water to 60 C when drawn off, increasing available hot water compared to others. All pipes connect to the Super Coil from the rear. The installer fits the pipes to the back wall together according to a supplied template and finally slides the cylinder into place to marry the valve connections with the pre-cut pipe tails. Super Coil can be converted to a pre-plumbed unit including full S-plan heating system with the connection to the OSO SuperJig (see page 18). OSO coils have increased length compared to finned coils, carry more heating fluid (8 litres) and therefore have a greater heat transfer capacity. Providing free solar heated hot water The Solarcyl is a purpose-designed solar ready unvented cylinder, providing high solar input from the large heating coil and substantial dedicated solar volume. The Solarcyl has back-up heating with twin electric immersion heaters. High performance fully flooded design, with expansion vessel supplied with the cylinder. The Solarcyl is able to provide up to 60% of annual domestic hot water requirements from free solar energy captured by roof panel collectors. Solar thermal installations using the Solarcyl can be eligible for government backed Renewable Heat Incentive. Solarcyl is ideal for connection with all types of solar collectors and should be connected with a differential controller to complete a high performance system. The positioning and size of the coil in the Solarcyl maximizes the use of available solar energy. A second electric immersion heater is fitted in the top half of the cylinder for boosting temperature when solar energy is low. The fully flooded design offers a superior hot water performance when solar gain is low, and the separate, external expansion vessel is supplied with wall bracket and flexible hose. Solarcyl Twin Coil - RI TC - solar/boiler combination Heating coils in OSO cylinders are made of smooth coil that will not encourage limescale deposits and offer longer and more efficient life than finned or rippled coils. OSO coils have increased length compared to finned coils, carry more heating fluid (8 litres) and therefore have a greater heat transfer capacity. Twin coil for solar heating with boiler back-up The Solarcyl Twin Coil is a purpose-designed unvented cylinder for combining alternative heat sources. A low temperature heat source in combination with a high temperature heat source is the optimal combination. The Solarcyl Twin Coil has an electric immersion heater as backup in the lower part of the cylinder. High performance fully flooded design, with expansion vessel supplied with the cylinder. Solarcyl Twin Coil contains a large high efficiency solar coil in the base, with the upper coil connected to a boiler. This combination will provide hot water without the use of electricity. Other combinations are also possible. Solar or heat pump installations using the Solarcyl Twin Coil can be eligible for government backed Renewable Heat Incentive. The positioning and size of the coils in the Solarcyl Twin Coil maximizes the use of the alternative heat source, whilst supplying plenty of high temperature hot water. An electric immersion heater is fitted in the bottom of the cylinder for back-up heating. Ecoline GEO - RI HP - heat pump cylinder with electric booster Heating coils in OSO GEO cylinders are made of increased length smooth coil that will not encourage limescale deposits and offer longer and more efficient life than finned or rippled coils. Longer length smooth coils have a greater heat transfer capacity compared to finned or rippled coils. Large capacity heating coil for heat pumps The Ecoline Geo is a purpose-designed heat pump ready unvented cylinder, providing high heat pump input from the extremely large heating coil and substantial dedicated heat pump volume. The Ecoline Geo has an electric immersion heater for boosting temperature in the upper part of the cylinder. High performance fully flooded design, with expansion vessel and motorized valve supplied with the cylinder. Heat pump installations using the Ecoline Geo can be eligible for government backed Renewable Heat Incentive. Ecoline Geo is ideal for connection with all single phase heat pumps up to 14 kw for a high performance system. Geo 200 is suitable for heat pumps up to 10 kw and has a 19 m coil. The positioning and size of the coil in the Ecoline Geo maximizes the use of airsource or ground-source energy from the heat pump. An electric immersion heater is fitted in the top half of the cylinder for boosting the temperature, which, from the heat pump, is typically 50-60 C. The fully flooded design offers a superior hot water performance, and the separate external expansion vessel is supplied with wall bracket and flexible hose. The heating coil supports optimum heat transfer for heat pumps up to 14kW and is made from smooth pipe to prevent limescale accumulation. The 25m length and 8 litre water content of the OSO heat pump coils give them superior heat transfer performance. The Maxi units utilizes a stainless steel plate heat exchanger kit, with dual pumps for additional safety, cold water inlet set, and a mixing central. Guarantee Guarantee - unvented hot water cylinder The OSO stainless steel inner vessel on 20 series/ecoline and Super S cylinders is guaranteed against material defect or manufacturing faults for a period of 25 years from the date of purchase. All other parts including, but not limited to factory fitted electrical elements (damage caused by lime scale excluded), expansion vessel, thermostats and valves are guaranteed against material defects or manufacturing faults for 2 years from the date of purchase. In the event of a replacement component being required OSO Hotwater will supply such part(s) free of charge and freight paid, on condition that the defective component is delivered, freight paid to OSO Hotwater within 2 weeks of written notice being given to OSO Hotwater of the defect. Such replacement parts shall be guaranteed under the terms of this guarantee to the unexpired period of the aforementioned 2 year period. This warranty is conditional upon the OSO cylinder being installed in compliance with the OSO Installation & Maintenace Instructions, all current legislation, codes of practice and regulations governing the installation of unvented hot water cylinders in force at the date of installation and provided that: 1. The water quality shall be in accordance with European Council Directive 98/83 EC, or revised version at the date of installation, and is not fed with water from a private supply. Particular: Chloride content: Max. 250 mg/l Sulphate content: Max. 250 mg/l Combination Chloride/sulphate: Max. 300 mg/l (in total) 2. The OSO cylinder is filled with water before turning the electricity supply on to the heater elements. 3. The benchmark certificate is completed at the time of installation. 4. The OSO cylinder is serviced and maintained every 12 months and is marked as such in the benchmark logbook provided with the cylinder. Invoices for the maintenance work should be kept as proof of regular maintenance. Care should be taken of the logbook and invoices as they serve as the guarantee certificate for the cylinder. 5. If the newly fitted water heater is not in regular use then it must be flushed through with fresh water for at least 15 minutes. Open at least one hot water tap once per week, during a period of at least 4 weeks. 6. The OSO unvented cylinder has not been modified in any way other than by OSO Hotwater and is only used for the storage of potable water. 7. No factory fitted parts have been removed for unauthorised repair or replacement. 8. Defects caused by frost, excess pressure, salt dehardner process, transient voltage, lightning strikes or incorrect installation, repair or use, are not covered by this warranty. A laboratory evaluation of possible defects can be ordered by the user, however the user must pay for this where the above mentioned conditions have not been fulfilled. Evidence of the purchase date and the date of supply must also be submitted with your claim. 9. To validate the warranty the user must complete and return the warranty card supplied accompanied by proof of purchase within 60 days of purchase. Evidence of the purchase date and the date of supply / installation must be submitted. This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. This guarantee is offered as an extra benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Water Supply requirements OSO unvented cylinders operate at 3 bar (controlled by the inlet control set) and are capable of delivering over 50 litres per minute. Unvented cylinders will offer good multi-outlet pressure and flow rate provided the mains supply is adequate. OSO cylinders will operate at lower pressures and flow rates but performance may be impaired. A good static water pressure will not necessarily result in a strong mains flow rate. The maximum possible water demand should be assessed, taking into consideration that both hot and cold services are supplied simultaneously from the mains. If necessary, consult the local water company regarding the likely pressure and flow rate availability. If mains flow rate is poor, the OSO Super- Stream (page 19) should be considered. IF static pressure is low, the OSO charger pump is a possible solution. Wherever possible the water mains supply should be in at least 22mm. ½ (15mm) supplies can give good performance if mains supply is good, however consideration should be given to upgrading existing small bore mains pipework to a larger size if the recommended minimum pressure/flow rate is not being achieved.
