The Community Garden Club of Cohasset June 2018 Summer Edition President s Message It seems that summer has done more teasing this spring then her usual dance! One day it s raw and raining; the next day, humid and sweltering. Ahhhh, New England...always a flirt. I have marveled at the tenacity of my garden in this dance. Somehow, in spite of myself and our crazy weather, everything is thriving and blooming. It is a beautiful sight! Yes, it is a busy time of the year. We are preparing flower boxes for the Fourth, pruning spring flowering shrubs, staking tall perennials and tomatoes. And of course, there s our favorite chore, weeding and watering. Everyone is invited to visit the Lightkeeper s Garden and see our rejuvenated gardens. Lelia Weinstein designed a plan and installed several varieties of plants to give the area a bit of a visual boost. I encourage members to also come to the gardens every other Wednesday this summer, beginning June 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., to help Terese D Orso weed, water and maintain this beautiful historical site. I look forward to seeing you there. Sue Reagan President June & Summer Calendar: Newport Flower Show: June 22-24. Dana Roberts and members are entering this flower show.
