Fire rated partitions are located at exit access corridors, tenant space separations, dwelling unit separations, smoke barriers, and interior non-bearing walls. The minimum fire resistance rating is 2 hours for evacuation out of the building. Structural members must be fire protected on all sides with materials having the proper fire resistance rating, which for the existing building is accomplished through the use of concrete in the structural system. 25
