Laddomat Mixing valves for solid fuel boilers Version 1.01
Laddomat > Mixing valves for solid fuel boilers Why Laddomat This is the answer to those who burn wood or pellets and wonder why you should complement your boiler with Laddomat and possibly a storage tank. 1 2 3 PROLONG THE SYSTEM'S LIFETIME Laddomat in your system prolongs the lifetime of your boiler. Because Laddomat cools the boiler with pre-warmed return water, the corrosion in the bottom half of the boiler is reduced drastically. Many boiler manufacturers also provide a longer boiler guarantee when Laddomat is fitted to the heating system. IMPROVED ECONOMY A tankless system (direct system) must be started several times per day to maintain heat and that means that it consumes more wood or pellets. When you fit a storage tank and Laddomat to your system you can save up to 50% of your costs. HIGHER COMFORT An accumulator tank acts as a buffer and intermediate store for water that is pumped around the system. The boiler heats the water in the tank, and the hot water is then supplied to the consumers. With accumulator tank there will be long pauses between the times the boiler is fired. E.g. firings/day with accumulator tank with Laddomat E.g. firings/day without accumulator tank 4 ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS With a storage tank and Laddomat you do not need to fire up the boiler as often as when the boiler is connected directly to the heating system. You exploit the energy that the fuel liberates significantly better, and create optimum conditions for environmentally sound heating. Why Accumulator Tank? The function of an accumulator tank is simple, and is built around the physical principle that hot water is lighter than cold water. Hot water from the boiler is pumped into the top of the tank, at the same time as cold water is retrieved from the bottom of the tank. If this process is to function as intended, the boundary between hot and cold water must be sharp. If hot water and cold water are continually mixed, the water temperature will be lower. This means that capacity is reduced in a worst case scenario, there will not be enough energy to heat the water for a single shower. The secret behind perfect separation is to control the intake of the tank so the separation is not disturbed. The fitting that accomplishes this is called a charging unit, and the market leading charging unit is the Laddomat. E.g. accumulator tank without separation E.g. accumulator tank with separation 30º 40º 55º 80º 1 HOUR 2 HOUR 3 HOUR 4 HOUR 80º 30º 30º 80º 80º 80º Automatic Heating reserves the right to change specifications without notice. 2 Laddomat Mixing valves for solid fuel boilers
This is how LADDAMAT OPERATES HOT WATER AT LOW SPEED When the boiler starts to fire up, Laddomat circulates the water internally in the boiler, so that it rapidly achieves its working temperature and can begin to heat the tank. Laddomat then pumps the hot water into the top of the accumulator tank slowly and under full control, so that separation remains optimum. SEPERATION In addition, Laddomat cools the boiler with preheated return water hot water from the top of the boiler is diluted with a little cold water from the bottom of the tank. LADDOMAT PREHEATED/WARMED WATER COLD WATER LADDOMAT THERMOMATIC THE BASIS FOR EFFICIENT WOOD FIRING Laddomat 21-60 and 21-100 charging from wood-boiler to accumulator tank Charging unit for regulation of charging between the wood-boiler and tank, up to a maximum 60 or 120kW. During fi ring, the Laddomat 21 transfers the boiler s hot water to the tank. This occurs at low speed so that separation takes place. Because the Laddomat 21 preheats the cold water from the tank, condensation and corrosion are avoided, and the boiler can work at a high and even temperature throughout the fi ring. This increases the lifetime of the boiler and gives optimum effi ciency. The integrated non-return valve for self-circulation provides extra safety in the event of a power cut, and after fi ring has concluded, the heat that remains in the boiler is automatically transferred to the tank. Laddomat 11-30 and 11-100 charging from biofuel boiler to system with or without accumulator tank For control of charging between boiler and system. During fi ring, the Laddomat 11 transfers the boiler s hot water to the system. When using a tank, this occurs at low speed so that separation takes place. Because the Laddomat 11 preheats the cold water from the system, condensation and corrosion are avoided, and the boiler can work at a high and even temperature throughout the fi ring. This increases the lifetime of the boiler and gives optimum efficiency. Laddomat 11-30 is an extremely compact thermal valve, especially designed for small boilers and stoves that are fuelled by wood/chips/pellets/oil, up to max. 30kW. Laddomat 11-100 is a larger thermal valve. It can handle maximum output up to 200kW. Laddomat flue thermostat To start and stop the charging pump in Laddomat 10, 11-30, 11-100, 21, 21-60 and 21-100. The fl ue thermostat starts the pump as soon as the temperature of the fl ue rises to a predetermined level, after firing starts. The pump closes the self-circulation valve (if any) to the tank. Hot water from the boiler top is pumped directly into the boiler bottom = the boiler quickly becomes hot. When the wood fi re goes out, the pump stops as soon as the fl ue cools down. The self-circulation valve (if any) opens to enable cooled water from the bottom of the tank to transfer residual heat in the boiler to the top of the tank. LADDOMAT THERMOMATIC Thermomatic TVM, CC and EC Home actuator and automatic mixing valve controls Thermomatic TVM is a simple actuator that controls turning mixing valves. Its modern design provides quiet and reliable operation. The actuator features an indicator for the valve position and LEDs that show its direction of travel. The actuator can be easily turned by hand and has an integrated blocking protection. TVM is easy to install and completely maintenance-free. Thermomatic CC is a mixing valve automation with only fl ow sensor for temperature stabilisation, which can control a turning mixing valve with a 90 degree opening angle. CC can control the fl ow temperature during both cooling and heating. CC is suitable for all installations with constant fl ow, such as radiator and underfl oor heating circuits, air heaters and charging of accumulator tanks. This version is not suitable for domestic hot water control. CC is easy to install and use. Settings are made using the touch keys on the actuator, which are resistant to mechanical contact, as well as dust and moisture. Thermomatic EC Home Thermomatic EC Home is basically an easy-to-use mixing valve automation with room sensor, but with the option of more advanced functions, if required. All settings are made from the digital control panel, which also acts as a room sensor. It is easy to set which menus should be shown and the control can be locked, to avoid unwanted changes. Examples of more advanced functions: Alarm clock for day/night temperature (integrated function), connection box for control of start/stop of the circulation pump and supplementary heat (via an external relay box), connection box for connection of external control (e.g. GSM module) for connection or disconnection of day/night temperatures, output to send an e.g. SMS alarm (requires external control) and also a history of room, outdoor and supply temperatures. Wireless room sensor and outdoor sensor can also provide control, and you can also use so-called passive room sensor, which may be appropriate for e.g. rental apartments, where you do not want the guests to change the temperature at any time. Mixing valves TV 3S TV 3S are brass mixing valves for control of heating or cooling applications. The valves are fi tted with a wheel for manual bypass, but can be easily motorised, e.g. using Thermomatic TVM or our automatic Thermomatic EC Home or CC. All connection examples can be reversed. The scale plate is graded on both sides, and can also be reversed. All important parts are easily replaced. The valves can be supplied in dimensions R15, R20, R25, Cu18, Cu22 and Cu28, with optional Kvs values 1,6/2,5/4/6/8/10. DISTRIBUTED BY
