The tool is the same with additional software for UML-51 systems. Connection:Important! You must disconnect power from the controller before connecting it to the TST. Connect the TST to the D-Type 15 pin connector on the UML card. On the screen will appear 2 modes: A=UML31 press A for UML-21/31/41 B=UML51 press B for UML-51. The Display Mode=A The display mode presents a complete and updated record of the last thirty Failures and Events, and the current status of inputs and outputs as the microprocessor identifies them. The display mode may be used while the elevator is in motion without affecting the operation of the elevator. The display mode is a basic mode, which is accessed without the use of a code. 1. Last ten Failures For each of the last 10 failures the following details appear on the screen: The name of the failure. The floor on which the failure occurred (indicated on right hand side of screen). The input relevant to the failure. The segment relevant to the failure (the floor indicator on the UML card also functions as a failure indicator, the relevant segment blinking to indicate type of failure). The last thirty events are presented in the same format as the last ten failures. 2. Last ten Events For each of the last 10 Events the following details appear on the screen: The name of the Event, the floor on which the Event occurred (indicated on right hand side of screen). The input relevant to the Event The segment relevant to the Event (the floor indicator on the UML card also functions as a failure indicator, the relevant segment blinking to indicate type of failure). The last thirty events are presented in the same format as the last ten failures. -1-

3. Inputs All available inputs from In-1 to In-16 are displayed. 4. Outputs All available outputs from Out-1 to Out-16 are displayed. 5. Cabin Calls Mode Entry to the cabin calls mode (via the display mode) enables cabin calls to be made directly via the TST. TST-1 Possible Failures Name of Failure (as it Digital Meaning of the failure appears on TST-1 screen) Segments on the Elv Interlock Bridged a/1 After Passing From Inspection to normal mode the firmware checking if the interlocks are open, if they bridged or didn t opened this failure will indicate. Obstruction b/1 Obstruction timer. Indicates an Emergency stop due to the absence of inductor signal for a period of time equal to the set value of this timer. This is the Travelling timer Interlocks c/1 Hall Door Interlock contact. Indicates failure of positive door close, after two unsuccesful closing try. Car Fire Switch d/1 Improper car fire-key removal. Registered in the Fire-Control mode when the fire-key in the car is removed at any floor other than the lobby. The car will not travel until the key is restored. Contact Fall e/1 An open circuit was detected in the RC input chain. The Main Contactors failed to open, or a thermistor /thermo contact was tripped. Open Limit Switch f/1 Open Door limit switch not activated. Hall Push Button g/1 Stuck hall push-button Failure-Firmware ignores hall-calls from the landing at which the button registered as stuck. Safety Circuit dp/1 Safety Circuit open. An open safety contact to input C19 trips this fault. Pressing of the Emergency Stop button in the car is also registered as an open safety contact fault. I2 Inductor a/2 Down-Count Inductor. This fault is activated when the microprocessor fails to receive the expected pulse from this inductor. Photo Eye b/2 Photocell Blocked. Indicates photocell malfunction, or person/object blocking the photo-eye for more than the set value of the relevant timer. Doors remain open unless the Nudging function is active.if the Nudging function has been activated, this will not be logged as a fault. Instead, the Nudging action -2-

logged as a fault. Instead, the Nudging action will be logged as an event. Gen.Terminat c/2 Emergency Generator. For lifts in group control mode only. This fault indicates the lift has been taken out of service due to the activation of emergency generator mode. In this mode, all lifts are idled except one. The idled lifts will indicate this fault. Also, check Group Control connections between lifts on GN line. 60s Timer d/2 The car fails to start moving after trying for sixty seconds. This could be caused by an open door, interlock failure or other reasons. Slow Speed Timer e/2 Indicates that slow speed operation has been detected for an unacceptably long time. Measured from start of slow speed to full stop at landing. This failure results in Emergency Stop. The acceptable time interval is not user adjustable, and is determined by the type of elevator and the UML controller Board being used, as per the following table: -AC2-speed timer duration:15 sec -I3-DA(ACVV, VVVF) Timer dration: 6 sec -Hydraulic Timer duration=10sec I3 Inductor f/2 The inductor fails to signal within 3sec of the car having left, travelled from the door zone. Out Of Door Zone g/2 Indicates that an opening of doors was attempted while the lift was not in the door zone. Group Communication dp/2 In Group Control, Failure of this car to respond together with its group. TST-1 Possible Events Name of Failure (as it appears on TST-1 screen) Power On Inspection Control Hall Fireman Mode Car Fireman Mode Over Load Signal/Buzzer Full Load Bypass Door Safety Edge Door Open Push Button Meaning of the Event Registers a power up of the controller board. Usually follows a power failure. The event will also be registered with a system reset caused by electrical noise or software problem. The origin of such problems is typically an external source such as static electricity or spurious inductances. Inspection Control mode was activated. Hall Fireman mode was activated. Car Fireman mode was activated. An overloaded car condition was detected. The full-load or bypass switch was activated. When bypass is active hall calls are ignored. The door safety Edge was activated by an obstruction.event indicated after the obstruction persists for 30sec. The door open push-button,in the car,was pressed.event indicated after button pressed consistently for 30sec. -3-

Emergency Generator Attendant Service Out of Service Down Peak Up Peak Two Way Peak Loading Control Photo Eye Nudge Buzzer Separation From Group Bell Alarm Hall Sanitar Car Sanitar Independent Service indicated after button pressed consistently for 30sec. The emergency generator was activated due to a power failure. Attendant Service mode was activated. The car was taken out of service by manually operating the appropriate key switch. Peak passenger traffic, in the Down direction only, was detected. Peak passenger traffic, in the Up direction only, was detected. Peak passenger traffic, in both the Up and Down directions, was detected. The Loading service mode was activated. While the Nudging function was active, the buzzer sounded, indicating that some person or object obstructed the photoeye for more than 30sec. The function which separates the action of this car from the group, in group control, was initiated. The Emergency Alarm button in the car was pressed. Key operation of the car was initiated from a landing (Frequently used in hospitals for express calls) Key operation of the car was initiated from inside the car.(frequently used in hospitals for express calls) Independent service mode was activated. The Programming Mode= B The programming mode is accessed only through the use of your own private code. This security feature is necessary because the programming mode enables changes to be made to timers, parameters and the status of the lift. Important Note: all cards are provided with the factory code 0000. These four digits are replaced by the digits of your own personal code during one of the stages of the programming mode. It is recommended to Connect the Tst Without power to the master card and operate the programming mode only when the elevator is out of operation. Using the programming mode while the elevator is in motion, will trigger the emergency stop.
