BACKGROUND Customer research, conducted primarily with KFC, highlighted an issue with the amount of waste being left within fast food restaurant car parks. It had been found that many drive thru customers eat in their cars and then either leave the waste by the car door or try to throw the litter in the bin from the car window. Most of the time this results in littered car parks. A solution to this problem may also be successful in theme parks, motorway service stations, picnic areas, food court exits and any other environments that generate a high volume of waste. DESCRIPTION The new Combo Delta is a 140L capacity easy to use funnel bin with a large aperture and target graphic to encourage use. The large aperture is ergonomically designed to be easy to use from all vehicles and also whilst walking past the bin. For drive through restaurant owners this will mean cleaner car parks and reduce the need for costly litter picking. The Combo Delta is based upon the same design as the existing Combo Bin therefore the door mechanism and sack retention system remain the same. The unit comes as standard with the red and white target graphic moulded directly into the rear of the aperture which is easy to clean and offers a long life. There is a recess above the aperture to accept a Thank You sticker and recesses on the sides of the aperture which accept a waste graphic and arrow to encourage use. The standard colours are Black (100% Recycled Durapol), Red and Light Grey and the bin can be supplied in either one colour or different colours of body and door i.e. Black body and red door. Optional extras include the graphic sets and personalisation can be adhered to the door. The bin comes complete with concrete anchor bolts for installation into pre-prepared concrete foundations and alternative fixing kits include paving fixings bolts, concretein anchors, hex external ballast and internal sand ballast (25 or 50kg). KEY BENEFITS The large aperture and interactive graphics encourage the public to use the bin. The unit helps to reduce littering in customer car parks. The unit helps to reduce the time and cost associated with litter picking. The unit may help to overcome any littering objection made by the council when applying for planning permission for new restaurants. No additional operational training required for the staff as the unit has the same operation as the existing Combo. 3
