about the Event On November 7-9, 2014, Lan Su Chinese Garden will host the Ninth Moon Floral Design Showcase, Lan Su s first floral design exhibition created in partnership with the Floral Design Institute. Ninth Moon is presented in conjunction with Mum-vember, an annual celebration of the chrysanthemum. Open to all floral designers and artists, the Ninth Moon Floral Design Showcase is a juried floral show with each entry including chrysanthemums as a part of the display. Designers may use all floral design styles and forms that utilize fresh floral materials and foliage in their entry. The exhibition is designed to celebrate the beauty and significance of chrysanthemums and recognize the floral art and creative talent of floral designers in the Pacific Northwest. about Lan Su Chinese Garden Lan Su Chinese Garden is one of Portland s greatest treasures and most interesting sites to see while visiting Portland. Lan Su is the result of a collaboration between the cities of Portland and Suzhou, our sister city in China s Jiangsu province, famous for its beautiful Ming Dynasty gardens. Lan Su was built by Chinese artisans from Suzhou and is the most authentic Chinese garden outside of China. Much more than just a beautiful botanical garden, Lan Su is a creative wonder a powerfully inspiring experience based on a 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition that melds art, architecture, design and nature in perfect harmony.
