Parts List 2 x 2 12 gallon water reservoir with grate and poly-screen 400 gph (gallons per hour) water pump Flexible hose with water control valve Fountain rock or pottery 1

Step-By-Step Installation Instructions Tools necessary for installation: Shovel, level, box knife or scissors and marker paint (optional). Step 1 Choosing Your Fountain Base Location Choose a location for the 2 x2 pondless reservoir and use the base (or marker paint, if available) to mark the ground. NOTE: When choosing a location for your fountain, select an area large enough to accommodate the base AND any possible water overspray. The base should not be put near vegetation or structures not suitable for excessively wet conditions. Step 2 Digging the Fountain Base Hole Follow the outline and dig a 6-7 deep hole. If the soil is soft or unstable, then dig the hole 3 deeper, and back fill with 3 of crushed rock or gravel. This will provide a solid foundation for the fountain base. Step 3 Leveling the Fountain Base Insert the fountain base into the hole and use a level to make sure the base is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Use previously removed soil to backfill around the fountain base. Be sure to pack the dirt in as tightly as possible because settling will occur. 2

Step 4 Assembling the Valve/Water Pump for single or double fountain Thread the valve assembly and hoses onto the water pump and place the pump in the reservoir beneath the access hole in the grating. It is important that the hose attached to the ball valve go to the smaller of the two rocks in the twin peaks kit option. Step 5 POLYMESH SCREEN Pull the threaded ends of the hoses through the grating at the location desired for placement of the rocks. Lay down the mesh screen on top of the grate, and cut small holes to allow the hoses to be pulled through the screen. Trim the screen between the edge of the grate and the inside edge of the reservoir, so that no part of the screen is hanging over the edge of the reservoir. (This is to keep water from riding the screen, and dripping outside the edge of the reservoir.) Step 6 Attaching the Rock Bubblers Place the rocks on top of the grating, with the pipe over the protruding hoses. Tilt the rocks on edge and thread the union and hose together on each rock. Stand the LiquidArt fountain rock upright, keeping the flex-hose from binding where it exits the grate. Step 7 Final Steps Fill the reservoir with water and turn on the water pump by plugging it into a grounded GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) 110-Volt electrical outlet. 3

Step-By-Step Installation Instructions STEP 8 Water Flow Control Adjust the rate of water flow to your bubbler by turning the ball valve handle on the valve assembly until the desired flow is obtained. The valve is open when the colored handle is parallel to the manifold pipe, and is closed when the colored handle is perpendicular to the manifold pipe. Your rock or pottery fountain will come with a small insert located in the top. If installing one of our pottery or bowl rocks (featured) it is suggested to adjust up or down for desired water head height. Step 9 Finishing Landscape Touches Your fountain is now ready for the final touches of landscape design. Start by covering your polymesh screen with river rock or other decorative rock products. There are many styles and colors available, and these can be found at any rock yard, as well as most major home improvement stores. Avoid placing soil or bark on top of the polymesh screen, because it may fall through the screen and into the water inside the reservoir. If you d like to put flowers or decorative plants on top of your fountain base, we suggest using the LiquidArt matching rock accent planter (accessories page). It s made with the same GFRC process as our rocks, and the colors and textures will match your LiquidArt bubblers. 4

Accessories SAVE TIME Automatically fills the reservoir to the proper water level, keeping you fountain full Auto-Fill Kit: Works on 2 2 and 4 4 Reservoirs Supplies Water to Reservoir as Needed Connects to Irrigation Line or Garden Hose Does NOT require power Completely Adjustable Part Number: LA3700 5

Accessories LED Light Kit: LED lights are energy efficient and last 10 times longer than conventional lighting. These three lights are equipped with super bright LEDs, high quality waterproof housing, and a 23 foot cord. They are great for fountains and garden landscapes as they can be used in and out of water. Part Number: LA3000 Foothills Accent Rock: The Foothills Accent rock is constructed with the same reinforced concrete to match your Liquid Art bubblers. It stands at 16 tall and is available in Dapple Grey or Sedona Brown. Part Number: ACRA16 6

Planter Accent Rock: The Accent Planter accessory is constructed to match your Liquid Art bubblers. It allows you to change the look of your fountain throughout the seasons by adding flowers or plants without having to move your ground cover rocks. No assembly required, just plant your accents of choice and place next to your fountain. Available in Dapple Gray or Sedona Brown. Part Number: LAPLANTER 3 x3 Collar Extension Kit (for 2 x2 Base) The 3 x3 collar is meant to provide a larger overspray capture range for the 2 x2 reservoir. It can be installed at any time as an add on to ensure that water is retained. Part Number: 3x3 Extension 7

fountain care Caring for Your LiquidArt Rocks Tips to Keep Your Bubblers Looking Great! LiquidArt s Glass-Fiber-Reinforced-Concrete (GFRC) bubblers are designed to provide years of enjoyment, with minimal care or maintenance required. Because they are made of concrete, they are very rugged and will withstand the elements without the color fade or discoloration common in inferior faux stones. Cleaning Dirt Spots LiquidArt s GFRC rocks will age in a very similar manner as natural stones. If you need to clean the rocks, a good blast from a garden hose will usually work, although a mild soap and soft-bristle brush can be used as well, if needed. Cleaning Algae and Moss Over time, moss and algae may develop on your LiquidArt rock, just as it would on natural stone. The time it takes will depend on how often you have your fountain turned on, how much shade or sunlight it gets, and how often fresh water is added to the fountain base. If your rock is accumulating more moss or algae than you desire, LiquidArt recommends using an algaecide designed to reduce moss/algae growth. These additives are available at most pond shops. Just remember to make sure they are deemed safe for colored concrete! Efflorescence Causes and Cleaning/Removal Any material containing Portland cement (precast stone, GFRC products, etc.) has the potential to effloresce. Efflorescence is caused when soluble salts and other water materials come to the surface of concrete and mortar. Most often, efflorescence will be minor, and can manifest in a couple of ways either as a powdery, fluffy, substance, which is easily brushed off with a nylon-bristle scrub brush, or as a crystallized deposit on the rock. To keep efflorescence to a minimum, run your bubblers non-stop for three to four weeks after first installing your fountain. If efflorescence appears, do not let it dry! While it is wet, scrub the area with the nylon-bristle brush, until the efflorescence is gone. This may need to be repeated until all the salt has been worked out of the rock. The key is to not let any efflorescence dry! If efflorescence has been allowed to dry, and has attached itself to the rock, then an efflorescence remover, (such as Techni-Seal, available through LiquidArt) is recommended. Even with that, some staining or efflorescence may remain, which is why rocks should not be allowed to dry until any efflorescence has been worked out of the rocks. Reservoir Maintenance LiquidArt s fountain kits are designed to require very little maintenance. Because of the pondless design, there are no filters to change, and very little, if any, debris should get into your water reservoir. However, periodic attention is suggested, to identify any potential issues before they start. Check and adjust water level periodically, keeping the water level at or near the bottom of grating and no lower than the water pump inlet. Also, remove any dirt, rock or debris from inside the fountain base that may cause damage to the water pump or flexible hose. 8

Note: Due to overspray and evaporation, clean water must be added periodically. Failing to do so could cause the water pump to run dry, resulting in a damaged pump. Damage to the water pump due to an inadequate water level in the fountain base will void the limited warranty. Periodically inspect the grating and polymesh screen for damage. Replace if necessary. Winterization of Your Fountain In colder climates, where temperatures can reach below 32 degrees Fahrenheit on a regular basis, or where temperatures will drop substantially below freezing, even for short periods of time, it is recommended that all water be removed from the fountain kit during the cold months. Also, remove the water pump by disconnecting the pump from the valve/manifold assembly. Store the pump in a temperature-controlled atmosphere (above freezing). How to Get Replacement Parts Replacement parts are available by contacting LiquidArt by phone, at (800) 974-9586, by email, at info@liquidartfountains.com, or by writing to: LiquidArt, LLC 401 S. Redwood St. Canby, OR 97013 Pump Service and Maintenance Periodically inspect and clean the pre-filter. To clean, remove the pre-filter from the water pump and rinse using clean water. Replace the pre-filter if it is damaged or torn. The cap over the impeller should occasionally be removed to clean and inspect the impeller assembly. The impeller is the only serviceable item and can be pulled out of the pump body. Do not take the impeller apart. If it is worn or broken, the entire impeller assembly should be replaced. This will restore the pump to its original capacity. Pumps taken out of service for an extended period with fluid inside run the risk of forming a crust, which may prevent subsequent starting. Saltwater should be flushed out with fresh water. Always check the electrical cord for sharp bends, which can cause premature cracking. Do not use the power cord to lift or move the pump. Electrical Precautions Always use a properly grounded outlet. Do not immerse the pump plug in water. If the plug falls into the water, DO NOT REACH INTO THE WATER TO REMOVE THE PUMP PLUG. TURN OFF THE CIRCUIT FIRST! A drip loop should be used. The drip loop is a loop in the electrical cord below the level of the receptacle or plug, which prevents water from traveling along the cord. The National Electric Code requires that a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) be installed in the branch circuit supplying fountain or pond equipment. LiquidArt has several styles of GFCI units available. WARNING: NEVER REMOVE THE GROUND PIN FROM THE ELECTRICAL PLUG. FOR YOUR PROTECTION, ALWAYS UNPLUG THE PUMP UNIT FROM ITS POWER SOURCE BEFORE INSTALLING OR SERVICING YOUR FOUNTAIN. SHOULD THE UNIT APPEAR TO NOT BE WORKING PROPERLY, DO NOT REACH FOR, REMOVE, OR DISASSEMBLE THE PUMP BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE POWER!
