Rental Service: D-955-27 The smart alternative D-33762-29 Calculating the required amount of safety equipment is often tricky for example when it comes to equipment which is only required sporadically for special tasks. Rental equipment can be an interesting procurement alternative in this case. An example from the field.

Task: Always be optimally equipped even for special operations Telecommunications is a white collar business but only about 9 percent of the time. This sector also involves tasks that can be really dangerous: for example, when maintenance work needs to be performed on the lines. The lines are often located in shafts, channels or other confined spaces. Possible dangerous scenarios that can arise include: lack of oxygen, poisonous gases or vapours and a risk of explosion. In order to ensure the safety of technicians during such deployments, their equipment must include personal gas detectors. Let s take a large German telecommunications provider as an example. The company has 45 different sites, with between 2 to 12 technicians working at each site. Safety management has to keep a sufficient number of portable single gas and multi gas detectors on hand for occasional tasks in confined spaces with potentially contaminated atmospheres. Past experience with an in-house pool of gas detectors showed that it was impossible to provide properly tested and serviced gas detectors on a flexible basis at different sites in a fully satisfactory manner. On the one hand, the know-how required to maintain the equipment in serviceable condition needs to be established in-house. On the other hand, the logistical costs are very high because the technicians carry the detectors with them to decentralised locations. Solution: Worry-free full service with Rental Advanced With a service package tailored to your specific needs, Dräger Rental Service ensures that ready to use (tested and serviced) equipment is available to every technician at every site 365 days a year. The equipment pool, which is kept available exclusively for the customer, includes a total of 1,8 Dräger X-am 56 portable gas detectors that are ready for immediate use by the service technicians. Dräger provides complete fleet management of the measurement technology equipment pool. When calibration is required, for example, Dräger automatically and proactively sends replacement units to the customer so that no shortages occur. ST-15916-28 2

In addition to the rental itself, the Rental Advanced package includes a comprehensive list of services. Dräger Bump Test stations with sufficient capacity are installed at each of the telecommunications provider s sites, so that daily function tests can be performed on the rental equipment on site during periods of use, which usually last several days. In addition, Dräger supplies replacement units if gas detectors are damaged. Also available, is an optional insurance policy which covers damage of the devices due to improper use. When the work is completed, the gas detectors are returned to Dräger at the end of the rental period. The Dräger Rental Web Tool also helps the customer manage their rental fleet: It always shows which devices are in use at a site and where replacement units may be needed. This ensures that a functional detector is available to every service technician. Added value: lower costs, higher efficiency and transparency Covering special requirements with rental equipment reduces both the investment budget and operating costs. A convenient service package like Rental Advanced offers maximum flexibility with maximum transparency: Orders can be entered and managed quickly and easily with the specially developed online tool. The framework agreement ensures that all required devices are available at all times. A fixed rental rate per day, month or year ensures long-term cost transparency. You are on the safe side in every situation with Dräger Rental Advanced. In short: On-site safety management no longer has to worry. After entering the required number of devices and delivery date in the convenient online tool, the customer can focus entirely on his core business. MUCH MORE SERVICE FOR NOT MUCH MORE MONEY The Rental Advanced and Rental Professional packages offer a significantly higher level of service at only marginally higher cost. in 1. 8 + 19 % + 1 % + 14 % 1..9.8.7 6 + 1 %.6.5 4 2 PURCHASE WITH FUNCTION CHECK RENTAL ADVANCED RENTAL PROFESSIONAL.4.3.2.1 Purchase or rental costs Costs per year for purchase incl. Efficient and convenient: Rental solutions for all requirements Whether you need special safety equipment for a specific task, need to cover a temporary shortage or sporadic peaks in demand: We use the modular Dräger Rental Service packages to develop a solution which is tailored to your specific needs. And an economical package: Rental Basic is often even cheaper than buying.
