Special Details performed by fire personnel: 09.30.14: 18 Fire Inspections were completed for the month of September of which four have gone out of business. Otsuka is moving right along with several different plans that have been submitted and approved. We have had four different businesses that have requested fire inspections for a liquor license. Fire reports have been checked off every third day and backed up for September. September Fire Reports have been sent off to NIFRS and the State Fire Marshal s office to stay in compliant. We have had inquiries about Hydrant locations and Fire Protection Classifications from various insurance companies. 10.01.2014: Home school student came to Station #1 for a station tour. 10.01-03.2014: Spalding County Fire and Office of Homeland Security assisted with the Flu Shot / Point of Distribution exercise at the Spalding County Health Department. 10.01.2014: Sheriff s Department used back pad for training. 10.03-11.2014: Spalding County Fire Engines went to Spalding County Fair for public relations event. 10.04.2014: Fire Safety House Detail at Home Depot with other Public Safety Agencies. 10.04.2014: Engine 1 went to Volunteer Park to standby as first responders during football event. 10.06.2014: Fire Safety House Detail at Crescent Elementary for 44 kids total. 10.06.2014: Engine 6 and Squad 7 participated in driver s training. 10.07.2014: Chief Polk attended the Make Griffin Spalding Better Together planning committee 10.07.2014: Chief Clark and Polk attended the staff meeting 10.07.2014: Fire Safety House Detail at Crescent Elementary School. 10.07.2014: Week 8 CERT Training: Unit 3 & 4 Disaster Medical Operations at the Senior Center. 10.08.2014: Personnel assisted the Griffin Spalding County School System with the statewide fire drill at the county facilities 10.08.2014: Chief West celebrated his 35 Year of Service to Spalding County. 10.08.2014: Station 1 personnel completed Monthly Report on Engine 1. 10.09.2014: Attended a meeting with Paul Beamon and Chuck Butler of Spalding EMS, Cynthia Tidwell of Health Department, Mitchell Cardell of Griffin Fire along with Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk regarding protocols with current virus and Ebola issues. 10.09.2014: Conducted a special scheduled fire drill for Spalding High due to the statewide fire drills and sent in all forms to Jim Smith of the school system. 10.09.2014: Engines 2, 6, and Squad 3 went to Jackson Road Elementary for Fire Safety House Detail. 10.10.2014: 44 Cowan Road Elementary students came to Headquarters station for Station Tour and went through the Fire Safety House. 10.10.2014: Worked with FEMA on a public safety survey. 10.11.2014: Engine 1 went to Volunteer Park to standby as first responders during football event. 10.11.2014: Engine 7 and Squad 7 went to Vaughn United Methodist Church for their fall festival. 10.12.2014: Volunteer Daniel Adams rode on Engine 1. 10.13-17.2014: Harold Williams attended Hazardous Materials Code Enforcement Class at Georgia Public Safety Training Center. 10.14.2014: Lt. Jones drove Fire Safety House to detail at New Hope Church for Community Wellness Fall Festival at New Hope Baptist Church. 10.31.2014: Engine 5 and Battalion 1 went to Center Point Church to participate in special detail (Final Approach). 10.31.2014: Melissa Jackson dropped off Halloween Candy to 911 Center to show our appreciation for all the dispatchers. 10.31.2014: Chief West, Engine 7, and Melissa Jackson attended the Annual Public Safety Trick or Treat Detail at Northgate Shopping Center. 10.31.2014: 27 Fire Inspections were completed in the month of October.
