The house is traditionally constructed of mellow red brick under a hipped pantile roof with pedimented east front and a later 18th century wing set back to the west. Burfield Hall is described in Pevsner s Norfolk Volume of the Buildings of England. The house retains much fine period detail with good sash windows, panelled doors and in particular, a magnificent main staircase lit by a Venetian window over which the elaborate plasterwork ceiling has been beautifully restored.
