4 Everyone s hands are different Everyone s hands are different. This is why some of our taps are extra user-friendly. We are Sweden s oldest and leading tap manufacturer. Over the years, we have gathered a wealth of practical experience from specially adapting products for home use, hospitals and nursing homes. This experience has helped us develop excellent products and smart solutions. This brochure presents our Health & Care products. These products are based on two types of mixer from our standard range: soft-closing single-lever mixers for kitchens and basins and safety mixers for baths and showers.
Everyone s hands are different 5 Technology and design Two important aspects are common to all the products. One is design. Design is not just to do with function and ergonomics, but also about looking good. The other is technology. Our safety mixers and single-lever mixers are based on our internationally patented solutions for unique safety and comfort. Small details like a specially adapted lever or knob can make life much easier for elderly and disabled users. A longer lever requires less strength. A black knob on the lever makes it more visible for people with poor eyesight. Our black handles provide better contrast and help people with reduced vision. And they re also easier to grip. Wings on the handles make them easier to grip and turn.
6 Everyone s hands are different Antibactus is a line of products designed to reduce the risk of legionella growth. Antibactus is also a system for flushing hot water through FM Mattsson safety mixers. Legionella bacteria thrive in still water at temperatures between 20 and 40 C. In these optimal growth conditions, legionella can rapidly increase to hazardous levels. The Antibactus drain valve, which is connected to the mixer tap outlet, automatically drains the mixer, shower and hose every time you turn off the water. This prevents the bacteria s chances of breeding. To reduce the risk of scalding accidents, the FM Mattsson safety mixer is fitted with a hot water restrictor which, during normal operation, prevents the mixer from reaching dangerously high temperatures that can cause burns. The Antibactus flushing kit is a conversion kit which uses the same safety system but also allows the mixer to be flushed with very hot water. The purpose of this flushing process is to minimise the level of legionella bacteria in the water pipes. The hand-held shower attachment should be positioned safely, for instance in a flush funnel, while hot water is flushed through the mixer. This prevents hot water from splashing. The yellow lock button on the temperature knob indicates that the mixer is fitted with the Antibactus flushing kit. All you have to do is use an Allen key to set the mixer to Flush mode. The present calibration temperature on the outlet is not affected by adjusting to this mode. The Antibactus drain valve, which is connected to the mixer tap outlet, automatically drains the mixer, shower and hose every time you turn off the water.

Cold Start With the lever pointing straight forward, the tap only supplies cold water instead of a mixture of hot and cold. This reduces your hot water consumption by up to 30 percent without compromising your comfort. 6. Materials approved for food contact All parts that come into contact with water are made of materials approved for food contact.
8 Nostracernium Guarantees & functions detore Our guarantees apply to FM Mattsson single-lever mixers with the soft-close function and to FM Mattsson safety mixers with pressure-balanced thermostatic mixing valves. The guarantees are valid for 5 years from the date of purchase. All parts that come into contact with water are made of materials approved for food contact. Our guarantees Temperature guarantee Thanks to the dual function of our safety mixers, you always get the water temperature you want. We guarantee that the temperature will remain within ±1 C while the water is running, even if the temperature and pressure in the pipelines vary. If the mixer does not meet this requirement we will rectify the fault. You must have access to a hot water supply in order for the guarantee to be valid. The guarantee* applies to all FM Mattsson safety mixers. TEMP Pressure guarantee Our globally unique soft-close function prevents pressure shocks and water hammer in your pipelines. We guarantee this. If the mixer closing time is not at least 0.2 seconds, we will rectify the fault. This guarantee* applies to all FM Mattsson single-lever mixers with the soft-close function. PRESSURE Calsium guarantee Even if you have hard water in your home, this will not affect our mixers function. We guarantee this. We undertake to rectify any faults if the performance of a mixer control unit is impaired as a result of limescale deposits. CALSIUM * In order for the guarantees to apply, the mixer must be installed and used correctly. Pipe laying and installation must be carried out professionally in compliance with Swedish (Boverket) building regulations. The guarantees do not cover frost damage or damage and functional faults arising as a result of water impurities.
Guarantees & Garantier functions 9 Our special functions Easy to use We make taps for everyone, including people who are not as strong as you. We want everyone to be able to easily use our taps on a daily basis. So we were especially pleased when the Swedish Rheumatism Association recently approved several of our 9000E basin mixers, shower mixers, bath mixers and kitchen mixers. And we know we re not the only ones who are pleased. Antibactus Antibactus is a line of products with automatic and preventative functions designed to reduce the risk of legionella growth. Antibactus is also a system for flushing hot water through FM Mattsson safety mixers. anti-bactus safe temp Safe Temp Safe Temp ensures that shower and bath water maintains a constant temperature. A dual-function thermostat cartridge compensates for pressure and temperature fluctuations in the pipe system. We guarantee that the temperature will remain within ±1 C. Soft Closing The soft closing function slightly delays the closure of the tap. This prevents water hammer in the pipes, increasing the life of both taps and pipes. Cold Start When you turn on the tap with the lever facing straight forwards, it only supplies cold water not a mixture of hot and cold as with traditional taps. This means that you save hot water without compromising on comfort. Eco Flow Eco Flow is FM Mattsson s simple, smart solution for saving even more water. Eco Flow is a flow limiter device that controls the water flow in single-lever mixers and showers. The mixers work exactly as usual, but the flow is limited to 6 litres per minute for basin mixers and 9 litres per minute for kitchen mixers with a pressure of 3 bar. A simple way to save water, energy and costs. ecosafe EcoSafe The Ecosafe concept is based on environmental awareness at all stages. This includes minimising environmental impact in the factory, choosing optimal materials, and incorporating energy-smart functions that make the end products ecofriendly and recyclable. eco plus Eco Plus On Eco Plus mixers, the mixer lever is equipped with sprung button that must be overridden to turn the tap to full flow. When the lever is released, the tap goes back to half flow. This saves more water, since the Eco Plus user must actively choose to turn the water on full. The safety mixer has a sprung button on the lever that must be overridden to turn the tap to full flow. Several of our 9000E products are tested and approved by the Swedish Rheumatism Association and bear the Association s quality seal.

18 Antibactus Antibactus Hot water minimises risk of legionella Having very hot or cold water in the pipe system is the best way to prevent bacterial growth. Legionella is a bacteria that is naturally present in groundwater and can cause Pontiac fever and Legionnaire s disease. People with weakened immune systems are especially susceptible to these diseases. Around 500 cases of these diseases are documented in Sweden every year, but many more may go unreported. One in ten cases are fatal. People can catch legionella by inhaling steam contaminated with the bacteria. This means that systems that generate steam are possible contamination sources, for example showers, air humidifiers, jacuzzis and high-pressure washing systems. Legionella is most effectively controlled by keeping your cold water cold and your hot water hot. The temperature should be at least 60 C in the hot water heater and at least 50 C in the pipes feeding the mixer.
