WHO WE ARE? S1 Group s overall objective is to ensure we provide a wonderful environment for you to enjoy our apartments. We strive on excellent customer service and we are extremely proud of our apartments. We aim to exceed our guests expectations in every area. We believe we have a first class housekeeping and maintenance team as well as an informative and friendly reception. We welcome hundreds of guests from all over the world every day and if there is anything we can do to improve we would love your feedback: please send us an email on feedback@s1group.co.uk Please that we are note a hotel. We do not pretend to be and do not wish to be. Therefore we do not offer hotel services and we close at 5pm.

GENERAL RULES AND CHARGES ALL OUR APARTMENTS ARE NON SMOKING This means you cannot smoke in any of our apartments. If you smoke in any of our apartmets you will be charged 125 for deodorisation + the room rate fo the next day. LATE CHECK OUT Check out is at 10:00 and it is 15 charge per hour thereafter. Check out time no later than 1pm. Keys should be delivered back to the concierge reception. It is expected that the apartment will be left in a reasonable condition for us and if it found that there is any abuse charges will apply: Smoking:... 125 + the room rate fo the next day Deep clean:.... 50 Damages:....as applicable Lost Keys*... 75 NOISE POLLUTION Please ensure that the garbage (trash) is removed and all crockery is washed using the dishwasher tablet provided before checking out. Social gatherings, groups and guests are not permitted. If a resident or fellow guest complains about any noise pollution there is a 500 charge and immediate eviction without warning or refund. Our security staff reserve the right to evict anyone whom breaches our terms and conditions, we pay particular attention to noise pollution of any nature. 5

FREE We offer a DVD player and a selection of DVDs at our reception available free of charge for guests. You can collect these between 9am 5pm and should be brought back to the reception upon checking out or earlier. 7
PLACES TO EAT Within our development you have a selection of wonderful restaurants: BREWERS FAYRE CRESHE A cheap and cheerful buffet / bar style family friendly restaurant with cresche facilities is brewers fayre. It has a buffet style breakfast on every morning from 6.30 am and a evening buffet everyday from 5pm. You ll find the usual sports on here in the bar and the cresche facility is great for kids. PLACES TO SEE When in Edinburgh there are many touristy things to do such as the the amazing Edinburgh Castle, the famous Royal Mile area and Edinburgh Zoo is a great attraction with the introduction of the panda s. The Grassmarket area and all the art galleries as well the Scottish Parliament are also of particular interest. To be honest there are so much to do that we couldn t possibly list it all here. In our little area of Newhaven which is only 1.9 miles from the city centre is just lovely. Here is list of things to do here without going into the city. We have 2 lighthouses in our development which are worth a visit. The ocean Terminal Shopping centre is a lovely mall with the usual suspects such as French Connection, Superdry and Gap as well as some chain restaurants such as Wagamama and Frankie and Bennies. The Royal Yacht Britania is the Queens Ship which is permanently docked in our waters. It s a great way to spend a few hours and a must see when staying with us. The Shore is only moments away and boasts many great cafes, restaurants and bars. For the fine diners there is the michleen starred restaurant known as The Kitchin run and operated by the famous Tom and Michaela Kitchin. There is also the Granary with life music on a Saturday night and live jazz on a Sunday afternoon. Ship on the shore is also another great seafood restaurant which has a seafood platter to die for. 10

HOW TO USE...? We have prepared some short guidelines on how to use equipment in our apartments. * Not all of our apartments have the same equipment however we believe you find it clear on how to use any of them through this guideline pages. 12

RUBBISH DISPOSAL To remove rubbish / garbage from your apartment you can simply put them in the large bins in the basement. To access the basement go to -1 in the elevator, make sure you take your key and fob with you so you can get back inside the building. 14
HEATING You will either have gas heating or electric heating. If gas, you can control the temperature of the apartment from the wall mounted thermostat in the lounge. Turn it clockwise until you hear it clicking and this will turn the boiler on. Set it at the temperature you require. We recommend between 13-17 for the ideal room temperature. Please try and think of the environment when leaving the apartment simply turn it down. If you have an electric heater, turn the dial on top of the heater to the sun symbol. This means it is on. Once the room reaches the perfect temperature it automatically turns itself off. Gas heating Electric heating 15
DOORS, WINDOWS, BALCONIES AND VENTS 6 O clock = Closed Ensure the door has been pushed in fully at the top and bottom before turning the handle down to 6 O clock. 12 O clock = Open Then pull towards you and slide to the left or right to actually open the door as it shown on the photo on the right. 9 O clock = Tilted open To freshen the apartment you want want to let some air in. Simply turn the handle to 9 O clock and pull gently towards you. 16

1 ELECTRICAL SWITCHES Simply turn on / off what you require. Here is where the extractor fan is operated from as well as the oven, microwave and dishwasher. 2 HOBS The cooker top dials operate from 0 to 6 and you can turn each handle anti clockwise from 0 to 6. 12 O clock is 0 (OFF) One click clockwise is 6 (maximum). 3 OVENS You will need to set the timer of the oven in order for it to operate. In order for you to set the timer simply press the bell (alarm) button and move the times dial to your desired time. See the image below. 19
USING THE HOB For best cooking zone regulation, refer to the following table. BOILING To parboil, select setting 3 and turn back to 1 for boiling; use higher or lower setting as required. CONTROL KNOBS FRYING Heat the fat up on setting 3, then insert food to be fried and turn back to 2; use higher or lower setting as required. SETTING LEVEL BEST FOR 0 OFF Simmering vegetables Fish in its own juice 1 LOW Simmering potatoes or soups Boiling large quantities of food, stews and soups OPERATING PILOT LAMP 2 MEDIUM Slow frying, making a roux Fast frying of meat or fish 3 HIGH Rapid heating up of fat or water 20
LAUNDRY AND HAIRDRYER All of our apartments have washing machines, irons and ironing boards. We air clothes to dry. Once clothes are washed you can hang them on the clothes horse (dryer). To operate the washing machine, simply, insert your washing powder, choose your temperature, choose your type and wash and start. 21

SOFA BED DUVET Some apartments have a sofa bed. This is useful if you have a guest to stay or wish to split up children instead of using the double bed. Please note these is a 15 per night charge for the sofa bed. In the master bedroom wardrobe you will find a bed sheet, duvet and pillow. To open the bed simply remove the two large cushions and pull out the foldable bed inside. 23
TAXI We recommend Port Leith Cabs, they are a small family run firm and they are very trustworthy. The only thing is they can be a little slow so please book well in advance. Their number is 0131 555 4030. Ask them to meet you at the reception so they don t get lost. Uber is a great app and works very well in this area. BUS The only bus that comes into the development is the number 10 - it comes roughly every 5 minutes, slightly longer in the evenings and weekends, particularly on Sundays. It will take you straight from here to the city centre (Princess Street). Just get the same bus back on the opposite side of the road. The displays are digital so it will tell you when the bus is approaching. The bus costs 1.60 per adult per journey and 4 for an all day ticket. Children are free. The hop on hop off bus is of particular interest for mist travellers. Tickets can be purchased in the city and the bus is extremely frequent. PARKING Parking is free in the whole area (on street). It s quite relaxed. You can park wherever you like. Traffic wardens don t come down here. The underground car park is reserved for residents. 26
IMPORTANT TELEPHONE NUMBERS 0771 9955 668 S1 Group emergency number. It is available after 5pm for EMERGENCY use only. Our reception closes at 5pm and we do not have anyone on site after 5pm. If you find yourself in an emergency you should dial the number above. In order to ensure we continuously offer great value for money we do all our hard work during office hours (9am to 5pm). We ensure everything is perfect for your arrival. Therefore, If the emergency number is called for a non emergency matter there may be a 50 service fee applicable. This is designed as a deterrent so please only call us after 5pm if absolutely necessary. We spend a lot of time perfecting our apartments for our lovely guests however, if you notice anything that is not up to your standard please inform us at the reception (9am 5pm) don t wait until after you leave feel free to let us know so we can remedy it for you. 999 Police, Ambulance or Fire emergencies In case of emergencies do not use lift!
