38 Vacuum drying ovens APT.line vacuum drying ovens Facts you should know: Homogenous drying of samples Our patented APT.line air jacket system ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the interior, including thermal transfer to the integrated expansion rack supports. Here, the large contact surface assures optimum heat transfer to specimens through the slide-in racks. The result is an ideal, controlled drying process that complies with standards. Durability through optimum corrosion protection Uncompromising quality, because the electropolished inner chamber, the patented slide-in racks as well as connections and valves are all manufactured from heavyduty corrosion resistant stainless steel, type V4A (1.4571)/AISI 316 Ti. The homogenous heat transfer through the APT.line preheating chamber eliminates cold spots and prevents condensation and corrosion. VD/VDL Short drying processes Innovative gas flow configuration, called Cross-Flow-Inertization, circulates the inert gas throughout the interior, which provides an artificial atmosphere that ensures extremely uniform and quick drying. VD/VDL VD/VDL/VDL EX-Zone 2 Safety glass panel (ESG) Door sealing Splinter protection panel (Polycarbonat) Flame protection gasket Maximum protection for projects involving flammable solvents Our vacuum drying ovens have a pressure-proof housing with a special safety glass window with anti-splinter protection which is flexibly suspended in the door frame. Maximum safety for your staff in the event of malfunction. This effectively eliminates the risk from implosion or explosion in the interior. VD/VDL In addition, the safety vacuum dyrying oven has also a patented flame protection gasket. Should a detonation occur, the flame protection gasket will prevent any fire. VD/VDL A controlled, pressure-dependent release of the heating system avoids potential ignition of flammable air mixtures. Release occurs only at a pressure below 125 mbar, since no explosion is possible without oxygen! ± 25 mbar VD/VDL VDL/VDL EX-Zone 2
Vacuum drying ovens 39 No ignition sources in the interior The interior chamber of the VDL EX-Zone 2 contains no ignition sources. The heating system is only released at a pressure below 125 mbar. Moreover, the energy is transferred without use of electrical resources because of the large contact surface of the patented expansion racks. Any other potential ignition sources are safely protected against penetration of solvent vapors through pressurized encapsulation, both around the exterior as well as the interior. ATEX: Total safety for operation in explosive environments The European ATEX Directive (94/9/EC) which regulates the safety in explosion hazard areas has been in force since July 2003; this specifically applies to areas where gases, vapors or dust can mix to create a flammable atmosphere. All equipment within these areas requires special safety devices pursuant to ATEX. VD/VDL The one-source solution provided by our VDL and VDL EX-Zone 2 series thus offers a high degree of protection. ATEX compliant drying oven, explosion-proof pump and an antistatic connection kit we are the single source for components that are ideally matched to each other. You can find additional information about equipment operation in explosive atmospheres at: www.vacuum-drying.com VD/VDL The BINDER the one-source solution A first class solution: We supply your equipment with a customized vacuum pump in a separate vacuum module. This will reduce the noise level by 50% and significantly simplify the access to the drying oven. Installation could not be easier since the supplied kit contains all necessary connections. This solution is naturally also available in the standard version. VDL EX-Zone 2 VD series VDL series VDL EX-Zone 2 series Applications Drying or heat treatment of specimens containing non-flammable solvents Drying of specimens containing flammable solvents which can form explosive mixtures with air (ATEX 95, ATEX 100a, 94/9/EC, EN 1539) Protection of persons and material assets against explosions. Designed in accordance with the European ATEX Directive for explosionproof equipment in explosion hazard areas (Zone 2). Fundamental requirement: The ventilation must be permanently guaranteed in the area where the equipment is to be installed.
