VENTILATION FROM THE INSIDE OUT Passive heat recovery in practice Enter a home where dust particles, house mites and odours are a thing of the past. A Comfort system extracts the stale and humid air from all wet rooms, recovers the energy and draws fresh, filtered and temperate air into the living areas of your home. A Comfort system guarantees you ventilation from the inside out. In practice, passive heat recovery involves the energy in the hot extract air being recovered and transferred to the fresh air being drawn into the home. The core of a ventilation system with passive heat recovery is a heat exchanger. The system works by drawing the two separate air flows closely past each other within the heat exchanger. As they pass each other, the energy is transferred from one air flow to the other. Compared to natural ventilation, this reduces the amount of energy required to heat up the home, as the fresh air being drawing in is preheated in relation to the outdoor temperature. The system replaces the air inside the home in the space of just two hours. Fresh air An air valve in the facade or roof of your home draws in fresh air and channels it on to the Comfort unit. Supply air Fresh, filtered and temperate air is drawn into all living areas in the home to give a healthy and comfortable indoor climate around the clock. Discharge air When the Comfort system has recovered the energy from the extract air, the stale and humid air is discharged from the home. Comfort unit The unit regulates the four air flows and the heat recovery process. Extract air Stale and humid air is extracted from the home via ceiling valves in all wet rooms and in the kitchen. 4 5

Comfort 300-600 Comfort 250 Top and 300 Top Comfort CT300 Comfort CT150 Our popular ceiling models The Comfort 300-600 models, which have been designed for ceiling installation, are suitable for homes with air replacement requirements of up to 600 m 3 /h. An integrated humidity sensor ensures optimum air replacement according to the humidity of the air in the house. In the summer, the units are able to lead the fresh air around the heat exchanger (bypass) so that the fresh air is injected directly into the house without first being heated.as something new, we have amalgamated our right and left versions of Comfort 300 into one model. This makes installation and service easier as the unit is accessible from both sides. Installation in a cupboard or on the wall Comfort 250 Top and Comfort 300 Top have been designed for installation in a cupboard or on the wall, e.g. in a utility or technical room. These models otherwise offer the same features as the Comfort 300-600 models. Comfort 300 is also available in a cost reduced version Comfort ECO Top. Passive house certified top model Comfort CT300 is a passive house certified version of our very popular Comfort 300 Top system. The system is perfect for all types of low-energy buildings with a ventilation requirement of up to 400 m 3 /h. The system is designed to be fitted inside a cupboard or on the wall, for example, in a utility or technical room. It offers the same functions and benefits as the Comfort 300-600 models. Space saving solution Comfort CT150 is the latest model in the Comfort range. The system is suitable for use in residential housing with a ventilation requirement of up to 175 m 3 /h. The system s compact design makes it ideal to use in new and refurbished flats, terraced housing and summer cottages, where the space available is limited and easy fitting is required. It can be fitted to the ceiling or wall, and offers the same functions and benefits as the Comfort 300-600 models. Comfort 300 is also available in a cost reduced version Comfort ECO. NEW 6 7

ACCESSORIES The functionality of your unit can be widened with the right accessories. Choose between a wide range of equipment that utilises the great potential of the Comfort units to the full. NilAIR A simple, inexpensive and flexible air distribution Electric heating element With an electric heating element, the temperature system which distributes the air that is drawn into the home in a minimal space. NilAIR can be installed in floors, walls or ceilings. of the air being drawn into the home can be further increased. The electric heating element is for integration in the ducting. Not available for the Comfort ECO range and Comfort 250 Top. EM-box With an EM-box as an accessory, your range hood can be used for more than just extraction it can also be used for efficient heat recovery and ventilation, thus enabling you to utilise its full potential. Water heating element With a water heating element, the temperature of the air being drawn into the home can be further increased. The water heating element is designed to be integrated into the ceiling models and into the ducting set on the top models and connected to the primary water supply. Not available for the Comfort ECO range or Comfort 250 Top. Pollen filter A pollen filter means that you avoid pollen penetrating your home during ventilation. The filter can be built into all ceiling models. Comfort ECO and Comfort 250 Top require a separate pollen filter box. Comfort CT150 require a panel filter pollen filter. Pollen filter box If you require a pollen filter in a Comfort ECO or a Comfort 250 Top, you will need a pollen filter box installed on the fresh air duct. CONTROL ON YOUR TERMS The Comfort systems are easy to install and just as easy to operate. Everything is controlled by the CTS 602 control from a single panel. Operating status can be read at any time and adapted to current requirements. Set the unit to your daily routine As most families have a routine that more or less follows the same pattern week after week, the control has been pre-programmed with three weekly programmes. The purpose of this is to make the unit match your family's living patterns and ensure you all an easy life and a perfectly balanced indoor climate. A weekly programme means that you are able to set air exchange, ventilation speed, required temperature, including temperature reduction during the night, timing for the activation of settings, alarms, etc. An integrated humidity sensor also enables you to adjust air exchange according to the air humidity in your home. If changes take place or your routine alters, reprogramming the unit is easy. ECO's easy control Comfort ECO has its own control where only the ventilation steps are adjustable. The control makes it quick and easy to operate the system but, in contrast to the CTS 602, no weekly programmes or operating data readings are possible. CT150 s options Comfort CT150 is available with two different controls: a step adjustable control and CTS 602. The step adjustable control, works in the same way as Comfort ECO s control, where it is only possible to adjust the fan speed. The CTS 602 control offers more features such as week programme. 8 9

LET QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY GO HAND IN HAND Fans Two energy-efficient and noiseless EC fans exchange air in the home by up to 600 m 3 /h to enable you to enjoy a temperate and comfortable indoor climate. Humidity sensor An integrated humidity sensor regulates the air exchange according to the air humidity of the home a small component that makes a big difference (does not apply to the Comfort ECO models and Comfort CT150 with the step adjustable control). Nilan's solutions are tailored to a sustainable future. The innovative and energy-efficient technology is based on renewable energy and the wish to make a difference to both environment and people. Each component in our solutions has been carefully chosen to ensure outstanding quality. This means efficiency throughout with a guaranteed long service life. Control An integrated control ensures optimum operation. Three weekly programmes have been pre-programmed into the system. These can easily be adapted to individual requirements (only CTS 602). Counterflow heat exchanger The core in a Comfort system is the counterflow heat exchanger that handles the heat recovery. Nilan s counterflow heat exchangers are made of polystyrene to optimise their effect, and they are capable of recovering up to 95% of the energy in the air being extracted from the home. Bypass When it is hotter inside than out, the bypass function can be used to lead the fresh air around the heat exchanger and draws the cooler air directly into the home (does not apply to the Comfort ECO models). G4 filters The filters clean the fresh air of dirt and clean the extract air before it reaches the counterflow heat exchanger. All components from metal plates to valves and bolts are tested from literally all angles in the production process. The finished units are also tested before they leave the factory.
