Future Fire District Staffing and Emergency Response On December 17 th, CALFIRE will be reducing to winter staffing. The Esperanza Fire Station will be closed. On January 1 st, Central Calaveras Fire will be reducing it s staffing for financial reasons, as the special tax (Measure D) on the November ballot failed to attain the required 2/3 (66.7%) voter approval required. Monday Friday. Central Fire will have one paid Fire Captain on duty from 7AM 7 PM. Stipends will be offered for up to two volunteer firefighters if they voluntarily stay at the Jesus Maria station and respond to any emergency calls. All other volunteer responders will be paged at home for emergency responses. Weekends. Volunteer Coordinator Report Activity since September 30, 2017 o 35 Total Applicants 11 Resigned, declined position, or failed to return call and email 24 have started the application process 10 Pending completion of application process (9 firefighters & 1 support) 8 Volunteer Firefighters are currently staffing full-time regular (48/96) shifts Worden Road Water Tank Access Repaired. o Access to the Worden Rd. water tank was heavily damaged by erosion following the Butte Fire. That damage has now been repaired and the water supply is now accessible by fire apparatus. Central Calaveras Fire would like to thank Paul Beatty for his donations of material and especially thank Blair Jackson for the materials he donated but more importantly for the work he did assisting our Chief of Staff Marty Tedder is finishing this important project prior to the start of fire season! RT-130 Central Calaveras Fire completed its annual Wildland Safety Refresher Training on Saturday, April 14 th Central Calaveras Fire has 3 firefighters in the Calaveras County Fire Academy. Graduation is scheduled for June 2 nd at 6:00 PM at Bret Harte high School Auditorium Central Calaveras Fire is hosting a Wildland Academy by Golden State Fire Support. Approximately 25 students from around the state will be completing a 2 week basic wildland firefighter training academy and will operating out of a fire camp established at the Sheep Ranch Fire Station.
