Dae-Hyun Jin Education 9/2003-8/2006 University of Maryland at College Park, USA PhD, Department of Mechanical Engineering Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (CEEE) Dissertation Topic: Investigation on the Refrigerant Distribution in the Evaporator Manifolds Dissertation: The research work experimentally and numerically investigated the refrigerant distribution in the evaporator manifolds for residential and automobile applications. The objective of the work was to provide essential design information of micro-channel type evaporators (or multi-port type evaporators) by conducting an experimental study on the effects of geometry, operating conditions, and fluid properties on the distribution of refrigerant and pressure drop in heat exchanger manifolds. For the experimental work, the following approach was taken: visualizing the flow through a multi-port header of a flat multi-port tube (FMT) heat exchanger, measuring the refrigerant mass flow rate and vapor quality for each individual tube group, and measuring the pressure drops along the distributing header and the vertical tubes of the heat exchanger. 9/1991-8/1993 Korea University, Seoul, Korea MS, Mechanical Engineering 3/1987-2/1991 Korea University, Seoul, Korea BS, Mechanical Engineering Teaching Experience 8/2018-Present Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Taylor University, USA 7/2017-7/2017 Summer School Professor, Yanbian University of Science and Technology, China Course: Fluid Dynamics for undergraduate students 7/2016-7/2016 Summer School Professor, Yanbian University of Science and Technology, China Course: Applied Fluid Dynamics for undergraduate students 9/2005-1/2006 Teaching Assistant, University of Maryland at College Park, USA Teaching assistant for undergraduate Thermodynamics course 3/1992-6/1992 Teaching Assistant, Korea University, Seoul, Korea Teaching assistant for undergraduate experimentation course
