FINENESS The closer we look at nature, the more detailed, beautiful and differentiated things appear. Take a simple leaf, for instance. Not that it s rough, but if you hold it up to the light, its living tissue looks even more exquisite, its delicate structure lending it even greater vibrancy. Finely structured lines, the subtle design of the many components... we have brought these details to the fore in our NEX Sideboard range. Nothing overdone, and nothing underdone. The interplay of surfaces and lines is held in exciting proportion and marked by luxurious reserve. The wafer-thin tops and exteriors are elaborately mitred and perfectly matched, framing the carcass with a filigree shadow gap, which we in turn give a clear, delicately crafted design. LUXURIOUS DETAILS It s always an aesthetic revelation to see the lengths to which nature goes to make the world enchantingly beautiful. Be it in the plumage of a bird, the patterns of a butterfly s wing or the rich colour nuances of a blossom... one thing is clear: luxurious, elaborate details are the means of choice. Of course, it s impossible to translate this wealth literally, but we knew one thing for sure: that particular luxury arises primarily from elaborate details and the subtle combination of colour and material. Our NEX Sideboard interprets this in the form of a cube pure, clear and extremely sophisticated. As well as in many luxurious details. For example, with the precisely fitted metal insert in the top panel. The recessed section floats delicately above the piece of furniture, separated only by a subtle shadow gap and accentuated by the fine alternation of materials and colours. The Twin Box also underscores this special character. At the top right or left there is a hollow space which provides room for a drawer element. This comes in many expressive colours, which are also available for the open element. If desired, you can order the Parsol glass doors with backlighting. STRUCTURE Open and transparent, yet stable. Sturdy, yet elegant. Light, yet durable. For those seeking these varied and seemingly conflicting features, there s no getting around one structure the frame design. Basically, this means is omitting the middle section and reinforcing the frame as the structurally significant part. The amazing thing about it is this: the area inside the frame is ours to design as creatively as we choose. MESH has creatively developed this principle further. This line of furniture owes its wide range of advantages to a filigree frame made of precision-crafted aluminium profiles. Considerably lighter and more valuable than steel durable, strong and easy to recycle. The piece offers innumerable décor options since we can fill the structure with any number of materials or leave it open. Transparent, semi-transparent or closed our modular system offers a fascinating range of expressive surfaces which you can configure individually to form luxurious furniture marked by elegance. TRANSPARENCY Transparency opens things up, creates surprising perspectives and presents us with new spaces. Much of what we find appealing and beautiful in nature, as well as in an urban environment, results from these perspectives large and small: framed pictures whose transparent character is shaped by light. We took this as our point of departure for MESH and invite you to witness a consummate interaction with transparency. For instance, we ve left part of the piece of furniture open, making it possible to look right through it. We ve also achieved a beautiful and luxurious effect by using top-quality tinted glass which meanwhile is produced by only a few companies worldwide. Four different tints are available for you to choose from: a subtle grey, a warm brown, a discreet blue or a light green making objects and the surrounding room appear in a light which is entirely different and expressive. It is these subtle shifts in the way colour and light are perceived which unveil their special, fascinating effect and make MESH a unique design piece. MESH 113

REFLECTION One of the subtlest allusions to reality is its reflection. It extends space, going beyond the mere doubling of beauty and able to interpret it in brilliant ways. With MESH we have brought this multifaceted interplay with reflection to the interior space. And taken it to the next level. Upon request, we are able to use various types of tinted glass in the frames, which now makes it possible to reflect space in different ways. This has the marvellous affect that not only the area in front of the glass is reflected in a subdued tone. Any items you place behind the tinted glass are also subject to this luxurious touch. An exciting ensemble develops as a result of the subtle interplay of the various levels which occurs in front of and behind the glass. It cuts a transparent figure in the middle of the room or against a wall. DESIGNER WERNER AISSLINGER AND MESH. AN INTERVIEW. Mr Aisslinger, does the world really need a new kind of furniture? Are you seriously asking a designer this question? Of course it does! If this furniture offers new opportunities and particularly if it constitutes an advance in terms of aesthetics. Are you thinking of the new MESH from Piure? Yes, precisely. When we were just starting out with development, we asked ourselves this question: How can we generate more creative freedom? The answer was this: By leaving out everything we don t need, from a structural perspective. An approach that led you to an elegant system made from filigree aluminium struts True. Eliminating structural limitations paved the way for completely new options. We can now leave the frame construction open in certain places. Close it off using elegant, coloured MDF boards. Use delicate shades of tinted glass. Or create semi-transparent fronts using perforated sheets. In other words, materials alternate within one piece of furniture...... which makes MESH so special! Materials put a stamp on furniture and give it character. In the case of MESH, it is all about transparency. The luxurious glass cabinet character we achieve with the tinted glass lets us do more than merely look through the element. The delicately coloured glass surface I think we have four different shades also subtly reflects the surroundings. A show of light, which in combination with the closed coloured surfaces, allows for exciting furniture compositions... and that s why it fits in so well with different interior design layouts? Absolutely. In this context, I call it hybrid furniture. What do you mean? MESH plays with the possibilities for the living space as well as the office space. With MESH you can create entire landscapes or just use single units for a collage-like combination. If you look at personal living décor, style schemes are no longer uniform. This carefree approach now allows MESH to also enter the world of the office, which has become more casual. The range allows designers and interior decorators to choose from all kinds of modules and bold colours if they want to showcase the dynamics of a company, for instance. The result could be elegantly de signed shelv- ing, as well as reception counters or combinations comprising several desks which are connected by sideboards offering plenty of storage space. Calm, clearly defined, durable and the way I see it with just the right amount of understatement. MESH 137

CLARITY One look at what is happening around us reveals a high degree of complexity. People need clarity if they want to see through it all and have an unadulterated view of the interdependencies. An unambiguous, honest picture of the circumstances. This picture becomes all the more important the more reality encroaches upon us and affects our own needs. An intellectual undertaking and at the same time one which mirrors the way we shape our immediate environment. Our NEX Shelf could play a constructive part in this respect. Not least of all because its clarity and transparency are accentuated by means of a generous structure. In keeping with this approach, we opted to forgo very intricate compartments. And the vertical shadow gaps which result when the sides of two elements come together abundantly reinforce the clear structure. The NEX Shelf includes elements which were defined by our designers. Align open elements and ones with a specifically designed front drawers and doors to suit your own taste, while taking practical considerations into account. Coloured inserts are available for you to choose from to especially accentuate open compartments. NEX Shelf comes in two different depths, with five height elements and three width elements. RHYTHM The world is full of rhythms. Every organism develops its own vibrating beat extending right into our lives. From physiological processes at cell level all the way to the abstract phenomenon which occurs when we consciously perceive something. The best example: music. Our aesthetic observations are no exception and demonstrate preferences of rhythm. While dependent on the cultural context there are certain visual patterns, the gaze of every individual seeks a unique balance in the complexity or its own exciting principle of order which reveals itself in the form of rhythm. FLEX offers the ideal frame for those wishing to compose their own individual and aesthetic principle of order. That s why FLEX provides finished shelves with a fixed partition which you can use and combine as you please. Alternate the various shelf elements and add other prepared elements to establish an exciting basic structure which you can use creatively. Insert boxes to contribute to a look which is more on the calm side or one which is a bit wilder. In the front-flush version they have a harmonizing effect. They can also be placed so that they protrude out of the shelving unit to two different degrees. Ideally, in the case of extensive shelving units, the result is an extraordinary look with rhythmically divided fronts, a look which remains fascinating even after years have gone by. For Use is an extremely exciting collective of designers whose influences hail from classic design and conceptual art as well as experimental scenography. This characterizes the distinctive signature of the group, which despite its creativity and abundance of sources of inspiration remains simplistic, clear and pure. LIGHTNESS... is the opposite of heaviness, immutability and an oppressive atmosphere. One thing is evident: apart from the realm of physics, we mainly associate lightness with the positive. It gives objects, situations and people something which is friendly and easy. Elegance also has an element of effortlessness, which is why it is hard to imagine elegance without lightness. Lightness, elegance and finesse were also the attributes which guided us in designing PURO right down to the last detail. It starts with PURO being shipped in innumerable individual parts, which are assembled manually on site. The design is so ingenious that not a single screw or hinge is visible, which further underscores the overall impression of lightness. The design principle also contributes to this, using only thin side panels to give the shelf even greater lightness. We consequently refer to PURO as a side line. Or take the edges: The explanation: The edges are bevelled, i.e. the 19-mm-thick panels are cut to almost half that thickness at the front. And the handleless fronts which protrude inconspicuously out of the shelf are part of PURO s perfectly light appearance. PURO 201
