Day 1: Sunday 19 th May 2019 Timbers Garden In the morning departure by coach with destination Calais. In Calais we ll take the ferry to Dover. On arrival we travel to Brogdale Farm for a guided visit followed by lunch in the Court Yard café. The National Fruit Collection is one of the largest fruit collections in the world and is located at Brogdale Farm. The National Fruit Collection includes over 3,500 named Apple, Pear, Plum, Cherry, Bush fruit, Vine and Cob Nut cultivars. After lunch we set off to Timbers Garden, a privately owned garden. We will be led on a guided tour by the owner Mrs. Sue Robinson. The visit will be followed by tea/coffee and biscuits. We continue to our hotel, London Beach hotel & Spa****, for dinner and overnight. Timbers Garden Day 2 : Monday 20 th May 2019 After breakfast we set off to Chartwell House & Gardens. Chartwell was the family home of Winston Churchill. Filled with treasures from every aspect of Churchill s life. On arrival first we have a guided tour of the garden.the entry to the house is on a timed ticket basis and is confirmed at 11:20; the visit of the house is on a self-guided basis, but friendly volunteers will be in each room to help answer your questions. After exploring Chartwell House and Gardens we continue to Chiddingstone Castle where we will first enjoy a full afternoon tea at lunch time followed by a guided visit of the Castle. Chiddingstone castle is an historic house in West Kent with 400 years of history and a collection of Ancient Egyptian, Japanese, Jacobite and Stuart, and Buddhist artefacts. After exploration of Chiddingstone Castle, some free time in Chiddingstone, the smallest village in Kent. We return to the hotel in time for dinner. Chartwell House Chiddingstone Castle
Day 3 Tuesday 21 st May 2019 This morning we begin with a visit to Wisley Garden. Wisley is the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and one of the UK s best loved and most visited gardens. This garden has expanded over the years and now covers 97ha. After our lunch at Wisley we travel to Denbies Vineyard. Denbies vineyard was planted in 1986, and since then has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK. Denbies core business is agriculture and they are pleased to be able to offer visitors an insight into wine production in the UK. Denbies wine now competes on an international level, including multiple gold awards for sparkling wine production, the first ever gold for an English rose wine and most recently an international gold for Denbies Noble Harvest Dessert wine. Day 4 Wednesday 22 nd May 2019 Breakfast Today we leave on an early bird visit to the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show in London. We will arrive at the gates around 10am and once in the grounds you will be able to pick up your show guide and start enjoying this most prestigious flower show. (today free lunch) The Chelsea Flower Show has been held in the grounds of The Royal Hospital in London every year since 1913, apart from gaps during the two World Wars. It s still the most prestigious flower show in Britain. After this visit we drive to the hotel, on our way back a possible stop at All Saints church in Tudeley. Dinner in hotel.
Day 5 Thursday 23 rd May 2019 Breakfast We leave the hotel and head to Belmont House & Garden for a guided house tour and a visit to the gardens. Belmont House is a magnificent neo-classical house, but it also has beautiful gardens and the finest private collection of clocks in Britain. After our exploration of Belmont Estate, we go on to Canterbury. Following a delicious lunch at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, we enjoy a special guided tour of the gardens surrounding Canterbury Cathedral and, if you wish, you can visit the cathedral as well. Around 16h we start our return trip and drive to Folkestone where we will take the Eurotunnel back to the mainland at 18h50.
