A healthy indoor climate Fresh air around the clock equals a healthy indoor climate and personal well-being. The energyfriendly VPL system exchanges air continuously to ensure that your home is free of dust particles, house mites, pollen and odours. COMFORT HEATING VPL s heat function warms up the fresh air being drawn into your home and supplements the central heating so that you are able to enjoy being indoors even on cold winter days. They work round the clock to adjust the temperature of your indoor climate in the best and cheapest way possible for you, your family and the environment. Look inside a home where comfort is a priority and learn how the discreet VPL system and its components make a difference behind the scenes. In practice, the VPL system's active heat recovery function uses the energy in the warm, extracted air being recovered and transferred to the fresh air being drawn into the home. The core in any ventilation system with active heat recovery is a heat pump which basically consists of an evaporator and a condenser. The energy in the warm air being extracted from the home is absorbed by the evaporator before it is extracted. The condenser then releases the energy from the evaporator into the cold fresh air before it is drawn into the home so heat loss is avoided. Compared to natural ventilation, the active heat recovery reduces the amount of energy required to heat up the home as the fresh air being drawn is preheated in relation to the outdoor temperature. In the summer, the process is reversed from heating to cooling so that the system cools the fresh summer air being drawn into your home. The VPL system is able to cool air relative to the outdoor temperature and should not be confused with air conditioning. Cooled supply air Fresh, filtered and cooled air is drawn into all living areas in the home to give a healthy and comfortable indoor climate during the warm summer months. Fresh air An air valve in the facade or roof of your home draws in fresh air and channels it on to the VPL system. Heated supply air Fresh, filtered and heated air is drawn into all living areas in the home to give a healthy and comfortable indoor climate during the cold winter months. Discharge air When the VPL system has recovered the energy from the extract air, the stale and humid air is discharged from the home. VPL system The system regulates the air flows and heat recovery and exchanges the air inside the home during just two hours. Extract air Stale and humid air is extracted from the home via ceiling valves in all wet rooms and in the kitchen. 4 5

VPL 15 VPL 15 Top VPL 28 CONTROL ON YOUR TERMS Popular attic model with built-in filters The VPL 15 system is designed for attic installation and is suitable for homes and apartments with air exchange requirements of up to 325 m 3 /h. The popular VPL 15 system comes with built-in plate and pollen filter. Installation in a cupboard or on the wall The VPL 15 Top system is designed for installation in a cupboard or on a wall and is suitable for anyone who wants to keep the system close at hand. The system is suitable for homes with air exchange requirements of up to 325 m 3 /h. Plate and pollen filter is installed externally in the duct set. For homes with large air exchange requirements The VPL 28 system is a attic model that exchange air with up to 1,000 m 3 /h and is suitable for large homes or small offices and institutions with large air exchange requirements. The plate filter is installed externally in the duct set or in the heat pipe (please see p. 8). The VPL systems are easy to install and just as easy to operate. Everything is controlled by the CTS 600 control from a single panel. Operating status can be read at any time and adapted to current requirements. As most families have a routine that more or less follows the same pattern week after week, the control panel has been pre-programmed with three weekly programmes. The purpose of this is to make the system match your family's living patterns and ensure you all an easy life and a perfectly balanced indoor climate. A weekly programme means that you are able to set air exchange, ventilation speed, required temperature, including temperature reduction during the night, timing for the activation of settings etc. If changes take place or your routine changes, reprogramming the system is easy. 6 7

More heat reduced consumption VPL 15 and 28 can be supplemented with a heat pipe which is a passive heat exchanger boosting the heat effect significantly during the winter without additional power consumption. This provides more heat, lower energy consumption and significantly reduced heating bill. Accessories The functionality of your VPL system can be widened with the right accessories. Choose between a wide range of equipment that utilises the great potential of the VPL systems to the full. With the help of passive heat recovery, the heat pipe transfers a large amount of the energy from the warm air that is extracted out of the home to the fresh air that is drawn in. Combined with the VPL system, this gives an increase of up to 40% of the total heat output without using any more energy. This means a significant reduction of your heating bill. The heat pipe also means that energy consumption for defrosting is dramatically reduced or eliminated completely. NilAIR A simple, inexpensive and flexible air distribution system which distributes the air that is drawn into the home in a minimal space. NilAIR can be installed in floors, walls or ceilings. Water heating element With a water heating element, the temperature of the air being injected into the home can be further increased. The water heating element is designed to be built into the duct set and must be connected to the primary water supply. Electric heating element With an electric heating element, the temperature of the fresh air being drawn into the home can be further increased. The electric heating element is for integration in the duct set and must be connected to a power supply. Installation kit An installation kit ensures an easy installation of the system. The installation kit consists of four vibration absorbers and a water trap for condensate. Passive heat recovery The system exploits the energy stored in the air extracted from the home and converts it to heat without the addition of extra energy. 8 9

Condenser As one of the main components in the heat pump circuit, the condenser handles heat transfer to the air being drawn into the home. Evaporator The evaporator absorbs the energy from the air being extracted out of the home and is one of the main components in the heat pump circuit. Compressor The hermetically closed compressor is a main components in the heat pump circuit as it transfers the energy from the evaporator to the condenser. The compressor ensures optimum operation and high energy efficiency (COP). Condensation outlet The outlet ensures that condensate, which is a natural result of the heat recovery process, is led out of the system and out of the home. All components from metal plates to valves and bolts are tested from literally all angles in the production process. The finished systems are also tested before they leave the factory.
