The Bluff Roundwell Bearsted Maidstone Kent ME14 4EU
Seller Insight We were initially attracted by the elevated position of the house in the village and we immediately saw the potential to create a lovely home. Simply put, we just fell in love with it when we first saw it from the outside, say the current owners. Originally built in 1932, we ve made a number of changes to the property which includes a two-storey extension and a back to brick rebuild of the entire house. We added new windows and doors and the replacement of the roof completed the total refurbishment. There s a great sense of community here in the village and everyone is very friendly. Located just a short walk away from the village green, there are plenty of social events taking place throughout the year and there s something for everyone, including a music festival and classic car shows. We enjoy easy access to the motorway network and we can be in London in around an hour or so from the local train station. Outside, the garden is very private and our view is of the neighbouring farmland and village. We enjoy entertaining on the rear terrace which is a lovely sun trap and it catches the sun throughout the day. At the front of the house, mature trees and hedging provide a sense of privacy and the small summerhouse is the ideal location for afternoon tea as it also catches the sun throughout the day. There are plenty of things to do in the nearby area, including day trips to Leeds Castle and Maidstone town centre is just a few miles away with a wide range of shops and restaurants. All of the day to day amenities required are within easy reach, including Bluewater and Lakeside Thurrock shopping centres. It s hard to choose just one favourite room as we like to spend time in all of them, they are so light and bright. The most enjoyable thing about living here has to be the friendly village environment. It s a great house to entertain in and we have hosted many family celebrations. The time has come to downsize and we will miss everything about living here. In fact, we re planning on staying very local! * * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
