AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY FUNCTIONAL AND SAFETY TESTING SERVICE Test centre: Sprayer: SV55-1000 Manufacturer: VMA S.r.l. Via F. Crispi, 184 S. Maria della Versa (PV) Test Report No 05.131 February 2007 1
Description of machine The implement is a trailed sprayer for use with ground crops. The feed unit (pump, filters, fan, dispensers) is connected to the tractor via a 3-point hitch. The trailed tank is connected to an ad hoc support situated on the back of the feed unit. This connection allows for independent movements of the two modules. The implement is type-approved for road circulation. The machine frame is made out of painted steel, the main and auxiliary tanks are made out of polyethylene. A gauge is located on the front right of the main tank. The liquid level is indicated by a transparent external tube. The nominal capacity of the tank is 1000 l. The implement is powered via the tractor PTO having a rated power of 540 rpm. The machine has a self-priming centrifugal pump operated using v- belts with automatic tightener. The pump is located on the left. The pump serves to handle phytoiatric mixing (agitation and distribution) and to fill the main tank. Centrifugal pump and levers controlling hydraulic circuit Liquid is sprayed and conveyed pneumatically. Air flow is generated by a centrifugal fan having closed blades made from steel plate. The steel casing is endowed with 2 independent outlets at a distance of 180 from each other (above and below). The shaft transmitting drive to the fan includes a centrifugal clutch with automatic declutching, enabling the fan to turn independently in relation to the power source. Drive is transmitted from the PTO to the fan via an overgear with oil-bath lubrication and multiple chain. 2/8
Transmission parts are located inside a pig-iron cast. Drive to the fan can be interrupted using a lever-controlled release gear. It is characterised by a centrifugal fan having a runner diameter of 550 mm. The hydraulic circuit is of the constant pressure type. The lever to adjust pressure is located on the tank, while distribution on the two sides is controlled via electrical controls on a panel in the driver s cab. The pressure gauge is placed on the feed unit; it has a diameter of 100 mm, end scale of 6 bar and is in intervals of 0.2 bar. Liquid is supplied using a fan-based feed unit with 4+4 independent flow regulators situated in the lower section of the fan, and a second unit with blow guns located on the upper outlet of the fan. Liquid flow is adjusted by varying operating pressure and via adjustable dispensers endowed with an antidrip device placed on every liquid outlet. 3/8

The EC manufacturer s declaration of conformity certifies that the machine conforms to the following harmonised standards and technical specifications: UNI EN 907:1998, UNI EN 1553:2001, ISO 11684:1995. Checks carried out with reference to documentation sent by the Manufacturer did not show up inconsistencies with the contents of the aforementioned standards. The relative documentation has been filed. 7/8
The present test report is valid for five years or until reference standards for the sprayer, Model SV55 1000 are altered. The machine has been submitted for certification at the request of the manufacturer. Functional testing was carried out in compliance with the provisions of the Protocol for the testing of functional characteristics of crop protection machinery (ENAMA rev.1 July 2002) at the Mechanics Section of the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Economics and Engineering, University of Turin.
