THE ALPTER PROJECT : TERRACED LANDSCAPES OF THE ALPINE ARC A research project about terraced landscapes in the Alps, aimed at enlarging the territorial knowledge and developing tools for conservation and recovery Financed by the European Union Interreg Alpine Space program for territorial cooperation in the period 2005-2008. INVOLVING THE POPULATION: THE LANDSCAPE OBSERVATORY TO PROMOTE THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PEOPLE IN LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT A LANDSCAPE OBSERVATORY IS BEING ESTABLISHED (AS DEFINED BY THE EUROPEAN LANDSCAPE CONVENTION GUIDELINES), THROUGH A WEB PORTAL WHICH CONTAINS INFORMATION ABOUT THE TERRACED LANDSCAPE AND CAN HOST THE PEOPLE S OPINIONS IN REGARD THE WEB PORTAL COLLECTS 3 TOOLS IN ONE: - AN ARCHIVE OF IMAGES AND STUDIES -A WEBGIS WITH LANDSCAPE MAPS - A FORUM WHICH ALLOWS THE PEOPLE TO POST THEIR OPINIONS ABOUT LANDSCAPE
