GB Area of application Self-closing fittings with thermostat are designed for hot water supply via pressurised storage heaters and, utilised in this way, provide the best temperature accuracy. With sufficient power (from 18 kw or 250 kcal/min) electric or gas instantaneous heaters are also suitable. Thermostats cannot be used in conjunction with unpressurised storage heaters (displacement water heaters). All thermostats are adjusted in the factory at a flow pressure on both sides of 3 bar. Should temperature deviations occur on account of special installation conditions, the thermostat must be adapted to local conditions (see Adjustment). The conformity declarations can be obtained from the following address: GROHE Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH Zur Porta 9 D-32457 Porta Westfalica Disposal note Dispose of batteries in accordance with national regulations. nstallation Flush piping system prior and after installation of fitting thoroughly (Consider EN 806)! Special accessory, see Replacement parts, fold-out page. Vandalism-protected, lockable metal handle (order no.: 47 763). Thermostatic cartridge for reversed connection, cold - left / hot - right, (order no.: 47 657). 30mm extension set (order no.: 46 238). Adjustable S-unions (order no.: 12 051). nstall S-unions and screw-mount the fitting Refer to the dimensional drawing on fold-out page. Push the sleeve with rosette onto the union nut. 4. Screw the rosette flush against the wall. Open hot and cold water supply and check connections for leakage. Operation After pressing the actuating cap (D), water flow is initiated for a factory-adjusted running time of 15 s, see Fig. [2]. After expiry of the adjusted time, the valve stops water flow automatically and without kickback. n order to change the running time, please proceed as follows: 1. Activate adjusting mode by pressing the actuating cap (D), see Fig. [2]. 2. Hold actuating cap pressed; water flow commences after pressing for 10 s. 3. Release the actuating cap after achieving the desired running time (2-180 s). 4. Confirm the set time by pressing the actuating cap twice (double click) within 2 s. The running time setting is confirmed by a short water pulse (1 s). When using shower head combination 36 248, the installation of extensions and of adjustable S-unions is not possible. Approval and conformity This product conforms to the requirements of the relevant EU guidelines. ncreasing running time tenfold (max. 1800 s/30 min) Press the pushbutton cap again twice (double click) within 2 s following the short water pulse (1 s). The tenfold running time is confirmed by two short water pulses (1 s). f the running time cannot be set, the running time setting is deactivated. n order to activate the running time, cartridge maintenance must be performed, but without replacing the battery, see description in the Cartridge maintenance chapter. 4

Automatic flushing (factory setting: not activated) The automatic flushing serves to maintain water hygiene in the case of long-term non-utilisation of the fitting and activates water flow for 5 minutes, 3 days after the last use. Safety notes: - Ensure free draining in the case of activated automatic flushing. - For automatic flushing of the hot and cold water lines, the fitting must be in the mixed water position. Switching automatic flushing On / Off Warning Do not stay in the wet area. Use suitable aids. Please proceed as follows: 1. Press actuating cap (D), see Fig. [2]. 2. Release the actuating cap; water flow commences. 3. With water running, press the actuating cap again and hold (approx. 5 s) until the water flow is interrupted for 1 s. 4. Continue to press and hold the actuating cap (approx. 5 s) until the water flow is again interrupted for 1 s. 5. Continue to press the actuating cap (approx. 5 s) until the water flow is again interrupted for 1 s. 6. By pressing the actuating cap twice (double click) within the next 2 s, switch the automatic flushing on or off. Pulsating water jet indicates the setting: - 4 water pulses = Automatic flushing is switched on - 2 water pulses = Automatic flushing is switched off For each switching, the procedure must be repeated starting from 1. Adjusting For temperature adjustment, see Figs. [3] and [4]. Before the fitting is put into service; if the mixed water temperature measured at the point of discharge varies from the specified temperature set on the thermostat. After each maintenance operation on the thermostatic cartridge. 1. nitiate water flow and measure the temperature of the water using a thermometer, see Fig. [3]. 2. Turn the temperature selection handle (E) until the water temperature reaches 30 C. 3. Remove screw (E1) and detach handle cap (E), see Fig. [4].. Cartridge 4. Remove screw (F) and pull off scale handle (G). 5. Attach the scale handle (G) so that the 30 C mark on the handle aligns with the mark (H) on the fitting housing and fasten with screw (F). 6. Attach handle cap (E) and fasten with screw (E1). Reversed union (hot on right - cold on left). Replace thermostatic cartridge 47 217, see Replacement parts, fold-out page, order no.: 47 657.
