WHAT MAKES HOMEMATIC IP SO SPECIAL Homematic IP is the customer-oriented next generation of Homematic. The open platform consisting of protocol and devices already utilizes IPv6 in each device and is therefore ideally prepared to drive the Internet of Things. Maximum Reliability Homematic IP is - just like Homematic - based on the 868 MHz band offering permanent bidirectional communication (i.e. with confirmation of wireless commands). Homematic IP works with multiple frequencies and is therefore suitable also for larger installations. The main radio channel at 868.3 MHz can be used more efficient which offers additional capacity for wake-on-radio as well as for firmware updates of devices (OTAU). Designed for low support requirements Homematic IP has been designed for simplicity. The entire solution is intuitively set up via smartphone app for ios and Android. Configuration of single devices is performed by the Homematic IP cloud service. The installation runs automatically and for ideal support or for additional security reasons the serial number can be scanned. The devices have a clearly structured, simple lifecycle model within the network. Single devices as well as the Access Point can be easily replaced if need occurs. No interferences There is no interferences caused by WLAN, video streaming or other users of 2.4 GHz. The system is highly reliable thanks to its superior range and the implementation of the established Homematic application protocol. Improvements of the MAC layer increase the performance without reducing the range or robustness. The patented triple-burst wake-on-radio further improves on the battery life and avoids high loads of the radio channel. Security at the highest level During installation of the system the communication of Homematic IP is secure and can not be manipulated. During operation, all radio packages are encrypted and authenticated. Reading, changing or repeating data or other kind of attacks are impossible. Similar to online banking, the established AES-128 and CCM standards are used. AV-TEST and ESCRYPT also confirm the high security standard implementation with regard to wireless and IT communication. HOMEMATIC IP AT A GLANCE The Homematic IP product range currently includes products for climate control, security applications and light control. However, Homematic IP not only offers increased security in the own four walls, but also enhanced comfort with light control as well as intelligent and efficient heating control. Additional products are currently in development and will expand the range gradually. All devices are set up and controlled via the Homematic IP cloud using a free app. Another advantage is that no personal data is gathered. Homematic IP does not just boast a high level of data security, but also intuitive configuration and operation of the products and apps. The climate control devices offer demand-based room-by-room control of radiators throughout the entire house, enabling users to save up to 30 % on their energy costs. In addition, efficient floor heating control can be realised with Homematic IP. The system detects the required heat for single rooms and - unlike conventional heating circuit control systems - intelligently circulates the hot water into multiple heating zones. This provides load balancing and efficient energy distribution thanks to the continuous flow of heating water. With the free app, individual heating profiles can be created for every single room. Afterwards, your heating will be controlled automatically and makes your everyday life easier. However, you can still react flexibly to changing circumstances and adjust your desired temperature according to your needs. The Homematic IP devices for security and alarm applications increase the protection against break-ins and, however, the sense of security in your own four walls. In alarm mode, users are informed whenever windows and doors are opened. Motion detectors offer reliable monitoring of inside and outside areas while sirens and smoke alarms trigger an alarm in case of break-ins or fire. Just a quick glance at the app is all it takes to see that everything is as it should be at home and no windows or doors are left open even if you re thousands of miles away. Comfortable switching and dimming of lights creates a sense of well-being in your home. A comfortable atmosphere for your TV evening can be created e.g. via app as the ceiling light is switched off while the floor lamp is dimmed with another tap to the desired brightness level. Also, the sense of security is increased with an illuminated driveway or house façade in the evening. Homematic IP products for light control can easily be integrated into the installations in your home since existing frames and rockers can continue to be used. Devices for shutter and awning control are already available with Homematic and will soon be implemented in the Homematic IP portfolio as well.
