PRODUCT CATALOGUE KLIMAGIEL PRODUCT CATALOGUE Overview KLIMAGIEL has been manufacturing fabric and metal ductwork for correct room air distribution for more than 30 years. The result of constant and continuous technological research, and the development of innovative concepts, KLIMAGIEL s products stand out for high reliability, long-life and flexibility. Over the years KLIMAGIEL has established scientific partnerships with leading universities, in order to develop new product concepts and test the effectiveness of its technological solutions. This approach has led to the development of a series of KLIMAGIEL technological solutions with European patents. Flexibility, attentiveness and the ability to respond to all environmental and customer needs make the company a reference partner in the air-conditioning and refrigeration sector internationally. Recognition of the quality of KLIMAGIEL ductwork, designed and manufactured in Italy, has spread internationally, thanks to a network of distributors and promoters who can assist designers and installers with any specific needs in their own region and/or country. Summary Benefits Compared to Traditional Systems: Uniform room air distribution flow characteristics. Extensive air mixing, preventing warm air stratification. Optimum opening arrangement calculated using a specific program. Highest efficiency guaranteed, based on specific customer needs. Compliance with standards (UNI 10339 - EN 13182) on air velocity at seat height, both in cooling and heating modes. Balanced air temperature drop in the duct. Induction created around the diffuser exploited to massively reduce condensate formation on the outside surface. Pleasant appearance, adaptable to the specific context. 2
OPERATING PRINCIPLE The high induction distribution system ensures that the flow of air out through the calibrated openings mixes perfectly with the room air, thus achieving a high level of indoor comfort. Specifically, the KLIMAGIEL JET-IN system guarantees a very large surface area for exchange and mixing with the room air, moved by friction and due to the negative pressure and vortices created by the air stream. This phenomenon is the result of the principle of conservation of quantity of motion: Q IN x ρ x V IN = COST = K This inductive effect means that with a certain initial impulse, a much higher volume of air can be moved than the amount of air actually supplied, reaching - based on the diameter and shape of the air openings and the static pressure - values up to 50 times higher than the flow-rate of primary air supplied. The ratio between volume of air moved and volume of air supplied is known as the induction ratio and is defined based on the distance from the ducting. Using a JET-IN system avoids the typical phenomena that arise with traditional air distribution systems: as these feature localised air supply points, uniform room air temperature-flow characteristics cannot be guaranteed. The extensive mixing ensured by JET-IN diffusers eliminates air stratification by ensuring that the entire volume of room air is moved. A special calculation program can be used to define, for each different design, the optimum opening arrangement (number, size and position of the openings on the diffuser) so as to guarantee high system efficiency and at the same time compliance with air velocity requirements in accordance with UNI 10339 and EN 13182. The software can be used to determine the air jets, displaying the trends graphically for air-conditioning both in cooling and heating mode. The software also provides data on the temperature drop of the air flowing through the duct. This in fact exchanges heat with the surrounding environment and consequently, especially in long ductwork, leads to a significant variation in temperature inside the diffuser. Consequently, this temperature difference needs to be balanced by increasing the specific supply flowrate (flow-rate per linear metre), thus guaranteeing ideal distribution of the energy supplied, from the first to the last section of the diffuser. Another useful and unique feature of the JET-IN distribution system with metal diffusers is that the induction phenomena created around the diffuser prevents condensation forming on the outside surfaces. INDUCTION Characteristics Fabric diffusers, designed using inorganic fibre fabrics, guarantee maximum hygiene, and exploit the high induction principle to generate optimum distribution and diffusion of the conditioned air. The flow of air generated through the calibrated openings, following carefully designed distribution in the duct, ensures perfect mixing of the primary air and room air, thus achieving maximum indoor comfort. Different types of fabric can be chosen, each with specific technical specifications and certification. Constant fabric research and development, together with the design of increasingly efficient fixing solutions, make micro-perforated fabric diffusers the ideal solution in a vast number of applications. Fabric diffusers have a further important advantage, being much lighter than any other type of air distribution system. The fixing systems have been optimised in every detail, to ensure easy and highly-reliable installation. Type Material Classification Standard PE/PU Euroclass B Class 1 PE/PU Euroclass B Class 0 Fibreglass Euroclass A1 PE/PU: polyester/polyurethane Optimised Seasonal Operation The diffusers can be supplied, on request, with a membrane system for cooling/heating mode selection. This involves an internal membrane placed longitudinally along the entire length of the diffuser. Movement of the membrane is controlled by a servo motor, and opens either the bottom or top section of the diffuser. In cooling mode, the membrane sticks to the bottom wall of the duct, thus allowing the air to flow through the top. Vice-versa, when the system is set in heating mode, the system closes the openings at the top, and the air flows directly downwards. Colours Based on the required type of fabric, a wide variety of colours are available. For standard, class 1 fabric, eight different colours are available: For the class 0 versions, seven different colours are available: White RAL 9010 Blue RAL 5010 Green RAL 6005 Yellow RAL 1018 White RAL 9010 Blue RAL 5022 Green RAL 6032 Yellow RAL 1012 Red RAL 3000 Orange RAL 2012 Grey RAL 7040 Black RAL 9005 Red RAL 3017 Grey RAL 9006 Black RAL 9005 This optimises system operation, guaranteeing more uniform temperature and maximum indoor comfort.
