1 Area of applicability These safety instructions apply to the indicating and adjustment unit VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81.CC/O****** according to Certificate CSA 14.2662675 (certificate number on the type label) and to all instruments with the number of the safety instruction (48924) on the type label. 2 General information The VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81.CC/O****** is used for separate scaling and visualization of measured values. The VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81.CC/O****** is suitable for applications in hazardous atmospheres of all combustible materials of explosion group IIA, IIB and IIC, for applications requiring EPL-Ga- or EPL-Gb-instruments, as well as Class I, II and III Division 1 and 2 Hazardous Locations. The atmospheres can also be combustible gases, mists, vapours, dusts, fibers or flyings. If the VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81.CC/O****** are installed and operated in hazardous areas, the general Ex installation regulations IEC 60079-14 as well as these safety instructions must be observed. For installations in Class I, II and III Division 1 and 2 Hazardous Locations, the installtion control diagram from Chapter 6 of these Safety Instructions must be followed. The operating instructions as well as the corresponding valid Ex installation regulations or standards for electrical equipment must generally be observed. The installation of explosion-endangered systems must always be carried out by qualified personnel. The metal elements of the VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81.CC/O****** are electrically connected to the earth terminals. The intrinsically safe circuit is electrically isolated from elements that may be earthed. 4 Application conditions The max. permissible ambient temperatures depending on the temperature classes are specified in the following tables. Division 1/EPL-Ga installations Temperature class T6-20 +37 C T5-20 +50 C T4, T3, T2, T1-20 +60 C Temperature on the electronics housing For applications requiring EPL-Ga-instruments, the pressure of the explosive mixtures must be between 0.8 1.1 bar. The application conditions during operation in areas with no explosive mixtures are stated in the manufacturer information. Division 1/EPL-Gb installations Temperature class T6-40 +53 C T5-40 +68 C T4, T3, T2, T1-40 +85 C Temperature on the electronics housing The prerequisites for operation in the absence of explosive mixtures can be found in the manufacturer specifications. 5 Protection against static electricity The VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81.CC/O****** housing is provided with a caution label referring to the safety measures that must be taken in case electrostatic charges occur during operation. Caution: Plastic parts! Danger of static charge! Avoid friction No dry cleaning 4 VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O** VEGADIS DIS81.CC/O******
Do not mount in areas with flowing, non-conductive products 6 Installation/mounting The intrinsically safe power supply and signal circuit between VEGADIS DIS61.CC/O**, DIS81. CC/O****** and the sensor should be mounted ungrounded. The required insulation voltage is > 500 V AC. 7 Installation Diagram VEGADIS81 + - VEGA SENSOR Associated Apparatus (Note 6) (Note 7) (Note 10) + - Control Equipment (Note 4) For XP-IS VERSION VEGA SENSOR VEGADIS81 + - VEGA SENSOR Comm.
