To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put any part of appliance in water or other liquid. 3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. 5. Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as spatulas and other utensils away from beaters during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to the mixer. 6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment. 7. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury. 8. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter. 9. Remove beaters from mixer before washing. 10. Before connecting, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds with the main voltage in your home and the device is properly assembled. Always leave the device on setting "OFF" before connecting to the power. 11. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. 12. The device must be placed on a flat and stable surface, not a slant one or that with carpet. 13. This device is only used for milky and liquid preparations such as flour, cream and egg. Don t put whisks or other hard food into the device. 14. This device should be left on setting "OFF" before unplugging after usage. 15. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (cont'd) Warning: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply extension cord is used: 1. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and: 2. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS 1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance. 2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet. 3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet. 4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced. Please return it to an authorized service representative. 5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break. DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY. CAUTION: To ensure continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlets only. IMPORTANT: During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/ or a slight odor. This is normal and should quickly disappear. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 4

Operating Instructions (cont'd) SPEED CONTROL GUIDE 1 STIR For slow stirring, combining, mashing, starting all mixing procedures. Use to add flour and dry ingredients to batter, add liquids to dry ingredients, and combine heavy mixtures. 2/3 SLOW MIXING For slow mixing, faster stirring. Use to mix heavy batters, start mashing potatoes or other vegetables, cut shortening into flour, mix thin or splashy batters, and mix and knead yeast dough. 4/5 MIXING For mixing semi-heavy batters, such as beating cookies. Use to combine sugar and shortening and to add sugar to egg whites for meringues. Medium speed for cake mixes. For medium fast beating or cream whipping. Use to finish mixing cake, doughnut, and other batters. 6 FAST BEATING and WHIPPING High speed for cake mixes. For whipping cream, egg whites, and whipping boiled frostings. WARNING: Do not exceed Speed 2 when preparing yeast doughs as this may cause damage to the stand mixer. The mixing time in most recipes must be adjusted to avoid over beating. With cakes, for example, beating time may be half as long as with other mixers. MIXER USE NOTE: Do not scrape bowl while stand mixer is operating. The bowl and beater are designed to provide thorough mixing without frequent scraping. Scraping the bowl once or twice during mixing is usually sufficient. Turn stand mixer off before scraping. The stand mixer may warm up during use. Under heavy loads with extended mixing time, you may not be able to comfortably touch the top of the stand mixer. This is normal. 7

Operating Instructions (cont'd) MIXING TIME Adding Ingredients Always add ingredients as close to side of bowl as possible, not directly into moving beater. Cake Mixes When preparing packaged cake mixes, use Speed 2 for low speed, Speed 4 for medium speed, and Speed 6 for high speed. For best results, mix for the time stated on the package directions. Adding Nuts, Raisins or Candied Fruits Follow individual recipes for guidelines on including these ingredients. In general, solid materials should be folded in the last few seconds of mixing. The batter should be thick enough to keep the fruit or nuts from sinking to the bottom of the pan during baking. Sticky fruits should be dusted with flour for better distribution in the batter. Liquid Mixtures Mixtures containing large amounts of liquid ingredients should be mixed at lower speeds to avoid splashing. Increase speed only after mixture has thickened. 8

Cleaning and Maintenance Stainless steel bowl, beaters and dough hooks may be washed in a dishwasher. Or, clean them thoroughly in hot sudsy water and rinse completely before drying. Do not immerse motor head in water. To clean motor head use a damp cloth to gently wash the surface. Do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners. Do not store beaters on shaft. TROUBLESHOOTING If the device fails to work:unplug the unit and check whether the parts are properly assembled. If the device starts to make odd noises, or omit a terrible smell and smoke, turn mixer to the "OFF" position and unplug the power cord immediately. Please return to an authorized service facility for examination, repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment. 9
