The use of accessory attachments or replacement parts that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause damage to the appliance or personal injury. 7. Do not use outdoors. 8. Do not let the electric cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. 9. Do not place the appliance near heat emitting devices such as heaters, gas cook tops or electric burners. 10. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids. 11. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. 12. Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in the Toaster Oven as they may create a fire or a risk of electric shock. 13. While in operation, do not cover the appliance or position it near flammable materials including curtains, draperies, walls, and fabric upholstered furniture. 14. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces of the pad may break off and create risk of electric shock. 15. Extreme caution should be exercised when using containers constructed of anything other than metal or glass. 16. Do not store any materials, other than manufacturers recommended accessories, in this oven when not in use. 17. Do not place any of the following materials in the oven: cardboard, plastic, paper, or other flammable materials. 18. Do not cover CRUMB TRAY or any part of the oven with metal foil. This may cause overheating of the oven. 19. To power off the appliance, push and hold the START/STOP button until the unit beeps and shuts off. It should then be unplugged. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! 1

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS CONTINUED 20. Always use the appliance in a well ventilated area and keep at least 4 inches of space on all sides of the appliance for adequate air circulation. 21. Use extreme caution when removing tray or disposing of hot grease or other hot liquids. 22. Always wear protective, insulated oven mitts when inserting or removing items from the hot oven. 23. This appliance has a tempered, safety glass door and is resistant to breakage. Avoid scratching the glass surface or nicking the edges. If the door has a scratch or nick, contact customer service before using the oven. 24. Always attach the electric cord to the appliance first, then plug into the wall outlet. To disconnect, push and hold the STOP button, then remove the plug from the wall outlet. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! ADDITIONAL SAFEGUARDS This appliance is for household use only. Do not operate the appliance if the electric cord shows any signs of damage. Tamper Resistant Screw This appliance is equipped with a tamper resistant screw to prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized service personnel. Power Cords / Extension Cords A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be 2

used if care is exercised in their use. If a long detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used, 1) The marked electrical rating of the cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, 2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounded type 3 wire cord, 3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel. Grounding Instructions This appliance must be grounded while in use. To protect against electrical shock, this appliance is equipped with a cord having a 3 prong grounding type plug for insertion with a proper grounding type receptacle. Toast Color Adjust Within the TOAST function, the Time/Temperature Adjust Control is used to select the color of the Toast, light, medium or dark. USING YOUR TOASTER OVEN This Toaster Oven has infrared technology for better, more efficient use of heat. The infrared feature utilizes halogen and quartz technology to cook with infrared light waves in less time than conventional ovens. The use of specific wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum profiled against your cooking choice results in perfectly cooked food fast! This oven s heaters glow intermittently on and off during use. CAUTION: Appliance surfaces are hot during and after use. Always wear protective, insulated oven mitts when touching the Oven, hot dishes and food, or when inserting or removing any of the racks. 6

RACK POSITIONING The wire rack may be positioned at four different heights. Cooking results will be affected by the position selected since the positioning of the wire rack determines how close the food is to the heating elements. The wire rack can be inserted onto the support guides in the upper or lower position, with handles facing up or down. See Figure 3 below for an illustration of these four positions. Fig.3 Function Rack Position Bake 1 Toast 2 Broil 3 or 4 Rotisserie 1 Pizza (12 diameter) 1 or 2 Cake (16 24 oz) 1 Chicken (3 4 lbs) 2 Cookies (16 oz) 2 Fish (2 3 lbs) 2 Potato (2 3 lbs, med. size) 2 7

Place the wire rack into the lower rack guide, position 1, as outlined on page 7 of this manual and place the drip pan on this rack to catch food drippings. 2. Insert the pointed end of the split through the chicken (See Figure 8) Fig.8 Fig.9 3. Fig.10 4. Slide the second fork onto the split at the other end of the roast or poultry. Continue to slide the fork until it is securely imbedded in the food and secure fork with the thumbscrew. (See Figure 10) Fig.11 5. Check that the food is centered on the split. (See Figure 11) 6. If the food is not imbedded tightly, a wire can be used to bundle the food. (See Figure 12) 14 Fig.12 7. Use the rotisserie handle to move the chicken by placing the hooks of the

handle under the grooves on either side of the split. (See Figure 13) Fig.13 8. Insert the pointed end of the split into the drive socket located on the right hand side of the oven wall. Make sure the square end of the split rests in the split support, located on the left hand side of the oven wall. (See Fig. 14/15) Fig.14 Fig.15 9. Close the oven door. Fig. 16 10. Turn the Function Adjust control until an arrow on the LCD points to the ROTISSERIE function. The timer will display the preset rotisserie time of 60 minutes or one hour. The unit will beep and a green light will illuminate underneath the LCD display to signal that the ROTISSERIE function is in process. 13. Use a reliable meat thermometer to check if food is at necessary required temperature. Use a separate timer to remind you to check the meat temperature. 14. When the time is up, the oven will beep 5 times and shut off automatically. Note: To stop the ROTISSERIE function at any time, hold the START/STOP button for 2 seconds. 15. Remove the split by placing the hooks of the rotisserie handle under the grooves on either side of the split. Lift the left side of the split first by lifting it up and out. Then, pull the split out of the drive socket and carefully remove from the oven. Take the meat/poultry off the split and place on a cutting board or platter. (See Figures 17 / 18) Fig. 17 Fig. 18 Warning: Always use extreme care when removing rotisserie split or drip pan from a hot oven. Always use rotisserie handle and oven gloves. 16
